Pocket PC Compatability

Submitted by DeadlyRed on August 22, 2008 - 1:34pm

Hi, first time poster, however I'm a pretty long time user of portableapps. I was wondering if the apps can be executed from an SDHC card on a PDA, such as the iPaq 3835 which I own. I believe it is a windows based os, but still who knows if it'd work. I'd like to get some firefox/thunderbird running on it, and for my portable devices this has always been my first place to look. Any help is greatly appreciated!

(I know there are many discussions about this)

I read an old guide on how to convert FAT or FAT32 into NTFS. (http://www.computerfreetips.com/System_Tune-Up/convert_fat_ntfs.html)

Now what I'm afraid is that it is written there

"Now restart your computer and enjoy NTFS features, but keep in mind you cannot covert back it to FAT or FAT32 again."

So is it true?

And before i convert my Flash Drive into NTFS what are the real advantages of NTFS over FAT/FAT32? We have very many FAT32 flash drives that went corrupt because we forgot to use the safely remove.

Just Amazing

Just a comment (no guest book?) to say Portable Apps is absolutely amazing. I'm a software engineer and Teaching Assistant at University of Ottawa.
I not only move between computers but also between operating systems between them. PortableApps and much of its contained software (didn't test everything) works beautifully with Wine in Ubuntu 8.4.
This really makes my life easier for e-mail, bookmarks and a plethora of application configurations. Toucan is the greates synchronizer I've seen yet (tried a dozen).
Keep up the amazing work!
