Simple explorer?

Anyone know of a simple Explorer replacement? When I say simple, I mean a Open dialog style one. For browsing files, I currently open Notepad++ and click File » Open to do it.

I'm planning to make a portable version of it, because it would so totally be better than using normal Explorer. If one doesn't exist, I might make one myself.

Portable voip?

Okay, I realize that both teamspeak and ventrilo are closed sourced and their license forbids their modifications... but is there anything LIKE them that can or already has been made portable?

Sourceforge hosting for portable launchers for non open source apps?

Submitted by Bensawsome on October 24, 2007 - 12:16pm

I was not sure whether to post this in off topic or or in General discussion feel free to move it though. but I thought since it is about portable apps...
Since I created a version of insanaquarium portable and I am planning to do several other non open source apps (and some open source apps) I was wondering if I could just host the launcher of the app and the source of the launcher and just give a link to download the actual app on sourceforge?
Thanks for any info,
Bensawsome

secured drives

Submitted by PilotBill on October 24, 2007 - 9:59am

Is this possible? I want to use a San Disk drive with hardware encryption and PStart. The idea is to have PStart in the unsecured section and upon starting PStart, have PStart “initiate” the login to the secured section. Also, any negatives in running either Thunderbird Portable or Firefox Portable in the secured section?
Thanks
Bill

Just an idea...

It would be great if someone could make a "practice app", that is an app that has already been made portable. It could include a text file with what registry entries it adds and how to make it portable with step by stp directions. It would really help those not-so-sure coders get started!

Figured I'd start a new thread as the old one was getting a little lengthy.
Plus based on NeoRames Post I'm guessing he's gonna be releasing a few new themes soon.
You will need eithe v.60 of my menu or the R31 MOD I posted in the R30 MOD forum for some of these new themes.
Lets try and stick to the same guidelines as the previous forum.
1. Post only a line or two about your theme\themes.
2. To avoid multiple posts if you have multiple themes, link to a page listing your themes.

I need theme help

Okay, so I downloaded a theme and tried to install only to really royally mess up. How do I do it. I know there are instructions on here someplace but I tried to search and came up with nada.

Thanks in advance.

BTW: John, portable apps are AWESOME. I use them almost exclusively between work and home. You got a great thing here.

The "Suite" works whitin a Secure Drive!

Submitted by Dani-drive on October 22, 2007 - 5:49pm

Hi All,
Newbie here so don't bite too hard:-))
I just wanted to report that the Portable Suite works under Steganos Portalbe Safe.
i.e. I have 4gb USB pen drive and half of it is a secure virtual drive (created beforehand with SPSafe)
I wanted to try first... because what's the point of having half of your office & personal staff in the hands of someone else when the USB gets lost or stolen.
