Will firefox portable decrease the life of your usb stick? Since web browsers freq write to the disk to store temporary web files and USB sticks have a limited times it can be written to.
I'm looking for a simple way of synchronizing bookmarks from Firefox installed on PC and from portable one. I googled it and all these fancy programs came up where you can make bookmarks accessible via FTP etc. All I want is just with one click make the bookmarks on portable and normal Firefox be the same.
Don't you think, that the server2go should be listed on this page, do you?
Best regards...

I've heard before that running apps from flash memory can provide serious wear and tear on the memory. Since flash degrades after a certain number of writes/erasures, and since programs generally right to disk rather frequently (e.g., save settings), running the apps will utilimately lead to an accelerated death. Are the portable versions specifically designed not to do this? Are there any other issues like this I should be aware of?
Much obliged.

Hi, I have 4 usb drives,
one of the original powervaults 64mb
a cheapo lexar jumpdrive 128mb given by a school
a sony USM512E from work
a sony USM1GJ just bought.
I ran portable apps firefox, gaim and filezilla (portaputty as well) from the 64/128/512.
Then all went to junk on both the 512 and the new 1gb. Both from sony maybe thats the bad part, but I sent the 1gb back and they shipped a new one, I swore the thing was slow as heck but its on both drives im seeing this, where before it wasn't.
When opening an application, the app takes 3x as long to load, talking 20+ seconds here. Then while open, say firefox, will freeze when scrolling for about 3 seconds then move again. Happens when typing, or anything, same with filezilla, it will start going then pause again.
just a simple question from my inquiring mind...
(maybe posted before, sorry if repeated)

Hi Guys,
I have a Sony PSP and, has many of you know, PSP uses Default Folders to store Pictures, Music and Video. We can´t rename delete or move those folders, so that PSP knows where to get the data. I have replaced the folders in Portable Apps for shortcuts pointing to those folders but i had to create a shortcut like this "D:\PHOTO".
My question is: If i connect my PSP to a computer in wich he assumes the Disc drive has E: or another letter differnet from D: i won´t be able to access the PSP folders using the Portable Apps Menu, i will have to use the explore disc shortcut.
Is there any way to configure the shortcut to use the drive letter assigned for the PSP? Like in Windows when we do %systemroot% and he points to the Windows folder no matter the drive letter.
