I'm pretty sure I read this somewhere in the forums a year or two ago. But, thought maybe it was time to ask again. What complications are involved in compressing a .paf format application into a single run file. I would have to believe that it would be much more convenient if apps were written this way if possible. If anyone has any ideas or comments, please post them. Let's really give ThinApp and Xenocode something to talk about!
Hi all
Is there any recommendation for best performace out of a USB? What should the USB be formatted in to use on a Windows box. FAT32? What about allocation units?
I use apps like FileZilla from PA but when they release a new version it tries to install the stand-alone exe not the PA version
Is there any way that the PA runtime can do checks for newer PA optimized versions (or do the PA versions themselves need to be updated to do a different check)
Hi.
One question, would be possible to create portable apps for Linux? Would them work in all distros without having to use different versions for each one? Or would it weight too much?
For anyone who's interested, they're giving away 1-year licenses.

In the email I got with the license key, I also got a code for 50% off a lifetime license.
I know it stores preferences in %appdata%, so it's not portable, but I think the CLI app usr.exe can be used portably.
First sorry for my bad english.
My question is:
what should be the read and write speed of a usb stick, which will allow software to be runned from it?
And if it's different for every program, which is the best (optimal) read/write speed who will allow most programs to run?
Thanks!
So here is my thought....
They do Wine for windows and basically you can install applications into it. But if we could make wine portable then we could install apps into it and have even more portable apps!
I was wondering if it is ok to d an antivirus bootscan on a flash drive. thought this would be a good thing to ask others may be interested as well.
I have a 20gig flash memory external harddrive
and use the free Avast antivirus program (the free version has option to do boot scan)
Because today is thanksgiving, I believe that we should thank John Haller and all the other developers.
They all take the time to update the site and keep the apps up to date and keep brining in new apps.
