I keep receiving an error dialog box that states, "G:\Access Denied" when I click on "Open with Pendrive Program" in the WINXP Action to take box, after I plug in my Memorex USB Flashdrive.
I've never received this message in more than a year -until I recently intalled a program directly into the portable apps directory on the flash.
Usually I first install a program on my local harddrive, then transfer the .exe into a portable apps directory I've created for it.

I downloaded the suite for my USB flash drive, but then it changed the name of the device to PortableApps. I tried rename. doesnt work. i formatted it. but it's still portable apps help plz!!

Slight complaint. (very slight)

When you release a new app could you please also update the version history.

I use this to tell if I need to download your version or if I can just use the one that is auto-updated with apps like FF and TB.

I would want to know if you have made improvements or modifications to the launcher etc.

This would also help those out there who do not have unlimited bandwidth and they could see what they are getting int the new version.

I just downloaded portableapps and all the portable applications except for XAMPP and Man-on-Stick and installed it on my 2 GB Pen Drive, and boy it's one great software suite one can die for!!!! I just love it. I have one problem though and that's why I am asking this question- is it essential that one has to download and install every update and upgrade of portable applications as soon as they come out?

This is something I've always wondered about with flash drives, and I guess this will be a 2 part question.

Which file system will get the best performance out of flash drive..Fat, Fat32, or NTFS?

Also, will a flash drive formated with NTFS work with with older versions of windows (specifically win 95/98/me)?

I got my September issue of PC World today and portableapps.com is mentioned on page 113 under "Use a USB Thumb Drive to Pocket Your Desktop." Nice work, John!

Out of curiosity, is it just me, or did the SourceForge project name change from "PortableApps" to "PortableApps.com"

It is true I left it in my pocket (I looked in there for it but it was not there before putting it in the washer.) So do any of you think the data is intact? The Drive is a PNY Attache. Since there is some important stuff like development stuff for my popular Armogohma Suites.

If anyone wanted to when v2 of the Suites are coming out they should be out be September but I can't make guarantees.

I also noticed there is a command prompt portable app. That is interesting, but I already wrote one for myself, thinking I would be one of the few who would want such a thing.

Actually, it is only a C program which calls a batch file, with my desired settings, TITLE, DOSKEY's and PATH.
