Will FreeFileSync ever be updated again?
I have heard portable applications ought to be slower than installed ones? Is that truth? If yes, why?
I'm curious as to what portable programs others have that aren't offered in the PA directory. Here's my list, please share yours:
Emsisoft Emergency Toolkit\Anti Malware, Comodo Cleaning Essentials, MBAM Chameleon, Malwarebytes AntiRootkit, CCleaner, Decrap my computer, Decrapifier, and TightVNC.
I know they are probably not "true" portable apps and leave something behind. But I favor functionality on the road over privacy on my tech PA drive.
Might there realy be malware in thoses portable apps: http://i.imgur.com/2XbPCiE.png? Should one remove those apps?
This also is shown as malware: \JDownloaderPortable_2.0_Build_19096_Development_Test_1.paf.exe
There's a new bug on SourceForge that affects mirror selection. If you've manually selected a mirror that no longer exists, it will fail to download. If you don't have a SourceForge account, you can clear the selection by clearing your browser's cookies for sourceforge.net.
If you do have a SourceForge account, you will have to log out to be able to download. There is no way to select auto or a different mirror.

Can anyone recommend flash drives which are easy to find (like in Office Depot, or similar large office supply stores), and not 'U3'? Specific brands/model numbers please. I am trying to buy a drive that will work at the local library copiers & computers. Thanks!
I downloaded the installer for portable apps platform (12.5) and began the install to a USB drive. When it was finished, I was asked if I wanted to run it. When I clicked "Finish" I got a message saying it was "unable to connect to PortablApps.com to retrieve portable apps. Please try again later. [Send request error]".
After spending an afternoon "trying again", I redormated the drive and re=downloaded the program - with the same results. I forgot to mention that both times I was still online at the download page of portablapps.com.
Hey just wondering, if I want to either Move/Cut or Copy files to a USB Plug and Play External Drive for keeping them in case of OS or something going bad. What would be good to use, Just WindowsXP Right click and Cut/Copy or is there a good program, File Manager or back up or something that helps with this? Need something low on Ram/resource usage. I have a ton of stuff on my hard drive I will be moving and maybe creating folders for and renaming a little stuff, I'm Just used to using Right click and such.
I just downloaded Songbird right from the portableapps website, installed and presto, instant Virus!!!
I find it hard to believe that was possible.
I clicked on a button on the side, Songbird.me and it tell my I have tons of viruses and it would NOT let me off that screen!!!
I have the proof in the form of a screenshot, if anybody it interested.
Anyways, first, last, and only time I will ever download another program from this site without reading reviews first.
Shame, shame, shame!
