Feature Request - Hide Apps

Submitted by rectitude on May 11, 2018 - 7:33pm

Hi,

I don't know if this has been requested previously but when I am using non-PA.c application, often they have multiple entries; which aren't relevant to the main programs' operation, e.g. ImageMagick so could it would be great if the Developer(s) could implement a feature such as this for convenience.

Also, I may have mentioned before but it would also be nice to suppress updating of specified little-used programs and have an option that when opened it will search for updates; that way I don't have to remove them (apps) entirely but otherwise a great effort ongoing.

Threads subscriptions - Subject is too long

Submitted by Stamimail on May 9, 2018 - 5:27am

Hi,

I have made threads subscriptions.
But when I got Emails, with different topics, I can see only this:

[PortableApps.com - Portable software for USB, portable and cloud drives] thread subscr...

so I can't realize easily what topic I got response.
So make the subject short - the name of topic

Another thing is that I got an Email even if it was just me that replyed to the topic.
I think it will better to get an Email notifications only when others are replying but not me.

Regards,

Multiple instances for a portable app

Submitted by Stamimail on May 8, 2018 - 5:33pm

Let's say someone wants to test and compare 2 versions of a portable app.
For example, he has 2 portable program folders:
AppPortable v3.0
AppPortable v3.5

He wants to run the two AppPortable.exe simultaneously.
The settings of AppPortable v3.0 will be saved in AppPortable v3.0
The settings of AppPortable v3.5 will be saved in AppPortable v3.5
How to do that?

libreoffice 32 vs 64 bit

I downloaded libreoffice 6.0.2 (now latest is 6.0.3) short while ago. On running it, task-manager shows it's running in 32-bit mode, not 64.

The ~.paf.exe file's name doesn't indicate whether it's 32. 64, or 32-64 bit mode. If latter, how to execute it in 64-bit mode?

Same question applies to OpenOffice ~.paf.exe. In my particular case I actually need 64-bit portable version.

thx

How Add Drivers to Windows Portable Apps?

Submitted by KenithO on April 14, 2018 - 2:49pm

Would like to make a portable app of 3uTools http://www.3u.com

The problem is Not 3uTools but the needed "Apple Mobile Device Drivers" (AMD) which most Windows PCs do Not have.

Hoped someone else had same idea for this or other (AMD) utilities so did a forum search using keywords "Apple Mobile Device Drivers" but got nothing.
