It's not that I don't trust you, of course.
But I've just wondered whether scanning downloaded installations (i.e. paf.exe files) can detect viruses within the included programs.
In other words, is it like scanning self-extracting archives?
I am wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction to fix this.
The Explore and Documents icons are the only ones working on the right side app icons. Music, Pictures, and Videos do not open a directory.
I think a few years ago I had moved those three directories from the root of my flash drive to underneath the Documents directory. I have now moved them back under the root or recreated them back under the root of my portable apps drive.
Greetings. Is it possible to provide SHA1 hashes in the 'Download Details' section for each installer? Alternatively, both SHA1 and MD5 hashes can be provided. The reasons are:
I'm not sure if I was the only one experiencing this but when I opened a google maps page my portableapps version of firefox crashes, is anyone else experiencing this?
I'm using Platform 12.0.5. Is it possible to have more than the standard count of icons / favorites in the main menu? Currently, I have 19 favorites, and want to add more, but there's no room on the main menu area.
I know I can click on the "All Portable Apps" link to open the categories, but the Favorites list is nice and quick.
If we can't have more than 19 icons, then maybe a folder under "All Portable Apps" that has the Favorites listed, that way I can have as many favorites as I want.
Thoughts?
Thanks
What's the exact open source license(s) (BSD, GPL, MIT, ...) PA.c is distributed with? http://wikipedia.org/wiki/PortableApps.com (right-hand side) says:
GPLv2, LGPLv2, MIT License, MPL 1.1, wxWindows Library Licence
But I can't find any mention of these on the PA.com site. Or do the above refer to (some of) the software packages bundled with PA.c? If so, what license is PA.c itself licensed under?
Thanks,
Martin
I've spent the last three days going through documentation, official apps, and forum threads... A search of “command line arguments” brings up 13 pages alone, “CommandLineArguments” is 7 only pages but most of that can be found in the first search.
solanus' Folderz and QuickStart examples are great starters, however they don't cover CommandLineArguments. That said I haven't found enough information to help me figure out what I'm doing wrong. Anyway this is my latest failed attempt..

Dear Users,
I'd like my USB drive to appear with an icon I stored in the following path: Documents/Pictures/Icone di supporto/usb.ico, but it seems that I can't reach the correct syntax for Desktop.ini.
My attempt:
[.ShellClassInfo]
IconFile=.\Documents\Pictures\Icone di supporto\usb.ico
IconIndex=0
I don't know, the icon remains the default one.
Maybe a matter of attributes (hidden/system folder or anything similar?)
Thank you for your help!
CloneVDI
FreeCommander (the 2009 version that actually works)
Piriform CCleaner
Piriform Defraggler
FreeFileSync (it works for me)
QSlite
I know JTH will balk at FFS but it does work.
This list is intended for people to report progs they know to be portable rather than an exercise room for people with previous attitudes.
If you know of something that is freely available and portable tag on. I'll check the basics but if an App is something I'm not familiar with we'll need cross references
