Java-Comix Portable (comic books viewer)

Submitted by wrobel-cwirek on October 19, 2007 - 11:10pm

Hi All,

I have pleasure to present portable version of Java-Comix.

Java-Comix is a comic book files viewer like CDisplay/CDisplayEx written in Java. It can read directories, 7z, zip, cbz, rar, cbr, tar, cbt, PDF files! Full screen, playlist, open multiple files.

This is BETA version since still I did not fix some issues - for example it must be installed under PortableApps/Comix otherwise C executable which runs Java will not find scripts (bat files) for it.

Submitted by Kevin Porter on October 19, 2007 - 4:44pm

I saw this great app while looking through the Vista-style apps for XP (and Win2K). It is called RocketDock. It is an app that will allow you to both dock your apps there instead of the taskbar, and make shortcuts. Here is some information:

Homepage: http://www.rocketdock.com/

Liscense: Freeware

How to make portable:

  1. Download RocketDock here: http://files.punklabs.com/RocketDock/RocketDock-v1.3.5.exe
  2. Install to the system, or your flash drive (Universal Extractor will not work)

This app is outdated. Please see the newer version here.

OK, heres a Project64 Portable launcher. Since Project64 is not OSS, your gonna need to download it and put Project64's guts in the App\project64 folder.

For those of you who don't know what Project64 is, it is basically the best N64 Emulator for Windows (at least from what heard).

VirtualDriveSet Portable 1.0

If you connect your drive to the computer you get the drive letter of the first free letter. that can differ between the systems you use. Some people want/need a fixed drive letter for their portable drive (thread). Drive B: is normally unused on most computer. So the idea of some people was simple: Mount the portable drive to a virtual drive. Windows itself got all tools (normally) onboard. It is done by subst.exe.
This small app mount your portable drive virtual to drive B: (no selection possible).

PNotes 2.5.0

Hi!
Would it be the self promotion, if I'll call attention to PNotes version 2.5.0?:)
http://lamer.byethost32.com/files/PNotes2.5.0.0.zip
(the link does not work direct - as usual - copy and paste it into address window)
The most important new: added "skinless" mode. These notes could be resized to any reasonable size.
Some small features added as well.

Any comments and suggestions are welcome.

MoinMoin Portable Beta1 (Testers Needed)

Submitted by Espreon on October 15, 2007 - 6:04pm

Heres MoinMoin Portable, it is MoinMoin packaged as a portable app so you can play with your desktop wiki on the go.

For users new to MoinMoin, after you start it up you have to redirect your browser to http://localhost:8080 in order to play with your wiki.

Yes I know MM is already portable but this makes MoinMoin fully compatible with the PortableApps Platform.

Download MoinMoin Portable (4MB Download): http://downloads.sourceforge.net/armogohmasuites/MoinMoin_Portable_1.5.5...

Portable Menu Theme Designer - Alpha Preview 4 - For PAM 1.2+

Submitted by SmithTech on October 13, 2007 - 10:36am

Looking for suggestions/input. Just remember its an alpha so lets not load the post with obvious things like fields that don't work yet etc.

When the program opens, should it show the preview window? Or wait till Open or New is selected.
When New is selected should the preview window be blank or show a default theme?

Also if any of you graphic designers want to improve on the icon, it would be much appreciated.

PortableMenuThemeDesigner

EDIT: Its about 90% functional at this point.

SpeedCrunch Portable 0.8 Portable Pre-Release 1

Submitted by Patrick Patience on October 8, 2007 - 12:08am

This has been released. Thanks for testing.

Thanks to ZGitRDun8705 on the find for this one, as well as merging some of Everaldo's icons to create something better than the original.

For those the don't know, SpeedCrunch is a great open source calculator with many functions for those that need them, but it's still simple and easy to use for those people that just need to do some simple adding.

Please test it out, I'm sure it'll come in pretty handy for most of you, also if you can make sure it does work portably and none of your settings are left behind.
