VirtualDriveSet Portable 2.2

Dijaboro's picture
Submitted by Dijaboro on January 8, 2008 - 6:12am

If you connect your drive to the computer you get the drive letter of the first free letter. that can differ between the systems you use. Some people want/need a fixed drive letter for their portable drive. So the idea of some people was simple: Mount the portable drive to a virtual drive. Windows itself got all tools (normally) onboard. It is done by subst.exe.
Since version 2.0 its possible to configure a drive letter. There is a INI file named VirtualDriveSet.ini, which is located in the application main folder. Modify the variable Driveletter to your choice.

RapidSVN Updates

Submitted by Neil Whitworth on January 4, 2008 - 7:34pm

I have been looking to set up a USB thumb drive with a full set of apps for web development. Everything was fine till it came to a subversion client. I found this https://portableapps.com/node/9085 copy of RapidSVN, which seamed to be the answer.

Unfortunately I had problems setting it up to use either ssh+svn, or https urls.

I finally found out that it is incorrectly handling swapping between the portable subversion settings and those of other subversion clients already installed on my PC.

PNotes 3.0.104 - released

Submitted by lamer on January 4, 2008 - 7:18am

Hi!
Well, holidays are behind and everybody is sober and fresh.
I'm proud to announce that version 3 of PNotes is ready for testing. What's new:
1. Rich edit box is used instead of simple edit box (the main change
in version), which allows to apply rich text format (font, alignment,
highlight) to any portion of note text. Hyperlinks
recognition is now available as well.
2. Added option for autosave mode - all notes will be
autosaved in appointed interval.
3. Bug fixed - notes are saved automatically on system shutdown (if
option "Save all on shutdown" is selected).

WinFF Portable (Testers Needed)

Submitted by phaze424 on December 28, 2007 - 2:07pm

I just finished writing a (very) simple launcher for WinFF, a GUI front-end for the FFMPEG command-line video encoder. I was having some trouble with the NSIS installer, so it's a ResHacked 7-Zip SFX archive instead. Also, the launcher is written in AutoIt3. Everything has been UPXed. The source is included in the WinFFPortable\Other\WinFFPortableSource directory. The download is just over 5MB. Enjoy! Wink

Due to a slow Patrick and Ryan, I have taken it upon myself to make Juice Portable. You can read about all of Juice's features at it's homepage.

Juice is a podcast downloader, including many features from the popular application iPodder. It has a favorites feature, RSS, and more.

In Test 5, I changed the coding a bit to accommodate the folder structure.

Note: GnuCash Portable 2.2.4 is now in Pre-Release.

GnuCash Portable has been updated to GnuCash version 2.2.4. This release is a Development Test to iron out any bugs that may come about with the change to the new version of GnuCash. Note that the latest release, 2.2.4 Development Test 1, has been released as a full installer due to new GnuCash 2.2.4 binaries.
