Gaim Portable 2.0 Beta 5 Pre-Release 1 (Testers Needed)

I've just posted a pre-release of Gaim Portable 2.0 Beta 5. New in this version:

- Gaim updated to 2.0 Beta 5
- Vista compatible launcher and installer
- Added support for Aspell spell checker (if you have it installed locally, just copy the contents of C:\Program Files\Aspell\ to GaimPortable\App\aspell\)
- Fixed issue where Gaim conflicts with locally-installed GTK+ 2.8
- INI file updated (so you'll need to update yours if you use one)

AbiWord Portable 2.4.6 Pre-Release 1 (Testers Needed)

I've posted a pre-release of AbiWord Portable 2.4.6 for testing. New in this release:

- AbiWord updated to 2.4.6
- Vista compatible launcher and installer
- custom dictionaries now portable
- local directory cleaned up on exit

ClamWin Portable 0.88.5 Pre-Release 1 (Testers Needed)

I've posted a pre-release of ClamWin Portable 0.88.5 for testing. This updates ClamWin to the latest version and adds Vista compatibility for both the launcher and the setup routine.

I've just posted a pre-release of OpenOffice.org Portable 2.0.4. New in this version:

- OpenOffice.org updated to 2.0.4
- Bug with individual app launchers not passing parameters fixed
- Vista compatible installer and launcher
- Added the ability to use a Documents directory in the root of your portable drive when your OpenOfficePortable directory is within a PortableApps directory in the root

Firefox Portable 2.0 Pre-Release 1 (Testers Needed)

I've just posted a pre-release of Firefox Portable 2.0. This release has many of the same features of Firefox Portable 2.0 RC3. There are a couple additions:

License Agreement Added - The Mozilla Firefox 2.0 end user license agreement is now displayed on first run.

Vista Compatibility - Both the launcher and the installer are now compatible with Windows Vista and should install and run even on a Guest-level account.

As for testing, I'd like to get some folks testing out the license agreement when using an INI as well as when running from CD as I haven't put it through as thorough testing in these scenarios.

Portable Apps Backup 1.0 RC 1 (Testers Urgently Needed)

I've posted a release candidate of the Portable Apps Backup utility I'd mentioned and had a beta release of previously. This is an easy-to-use backup utility (using 7-Zip internally) that allows you to backup your portable drive. It has all the features of Beta 1/2, including:

  • Standard Directory Suport - It supports the standard directory layouts of the upcoming Portable Apps Suite 1.0 release (Documents directory where your documents live, PortableApps directory where the individual AppNamePortable directories live).
