How can I compare the files by content with Synkron?
Just sharing apps that I use frequently that are either downloadable as portable or zips, or which can be installed normally, and then directory-moved to the PortableApps subdirectory:
Avast doesn't like the latest TAudioConverter 0.9.9 download. while I recognize that this is, no doubt, a false positive, I wonder if it might be related to the crapware that SourceForge has take to adding to some downloads. Search on VLC or Gimp and SourceForge for details.

Hello to all of you. Let me be clear about my question. If I use the platform on my usb key will my computer be protected from viruses that I may catch while surfing? In other words, if I disconnect my key that has been infected will my computer be clean? I am concerned about ransomware especially. Thanks.
Am I the only one seeing things llike:

Hello,
I scaned my PortableApps folder with SUMo (the software Update monitor) and it found many updates available.
Of cause I updated my portable apps via the PortableApps Platform before scanning.
I removed all "unofficial" apps from the list and also all apps that are known as outdated.
Here is the list of Updates that SUMo reports:
I'm receiving the error that "downloaded copy of "xxx" is not valid and can not be installed. This could be due to an incomplete download or other network issue. Please try running the updater again when complete"
This is happening with 3 separate portables. Where does Portable Apps download the updates to before it installs them? I'm pretty sure I need to delete the corrupted copy before I can proceed.
Thanks.
This is for discussion.
NotePad++ isn't quite as portable as it orta be once the plugin updater is included, I use it non-portably at home and on other systems I use frequently, for e.g.
There has been a recent (today) request for RJ Texted but from where I am it seems less generalised than NP++ which puts it into the realm of IDE and non-general editors.
Do we need another editor? We seem to be gathering IDEs that include an editor and so on.
Hi,
I use both Google Chrome and Firefox on my laptops, pcs, mobile, etc. I have a Google account and I sign in to Google Chrome so that all my various data is synced across my Google Chrome devices/sessions. I also use Firefox sync in the same way.
I have now set up PortableApps on a usb stick (with GChromePortable and FFoxPortable).
