Some Apps I think deserve High Priority on the Portable release schedule:
- InfraRecorder (A DC/DVD burning tool)
- InkScape (Vercor drawing application)
Maybe there are some more waiting for release but these apps have no counterpart already available.
I am wondering what I need to do with the PA version of FF 3 Beta to make my addons work. For my desktop, there are a couple of boolean checks that I added per LifeHacker site that allow my addons to work but that does not seem to be the case with the portable version.
Thanks,
Mark
did anyone else notice that they could not acsess the page for like 3 hours. for me it was between 7:20 am and 9:25AM -5:00 EST.
it is 10:23 now and i am glad that i can get on here.
As I continue to look at it day after day, I thought it might be a good idea to say something now. The list on the left side of the site labeled "Apps Hosted Here" needs to be re-worked a bit in my opinion.
I think we should have kinda a vote on which apps are most important to users, so we can show those in the sidebar, along with which is most popular. Because name's normally don't give away an application function, but if it's popular, the user will click on that link.
I'm thinking about keeping a pre-1.0 release warning on apps that a user uses to create, store or edit their personal data. 1.0 releases are technically considered development versions by most folks in the know (alpha or beta quality) but end-users may not be familiar with this fact. I'm thinking of this:
Pre-1.0 Release Note: This is pre-1.0 software and may have occasional bugs. Backing up your data regularly using the easy-to-use backup utility in the PortableApps.com Platform is recommended.
When I registered for the forums, I couldn't think of a good name at the time. I know a better one now, but do not want to re-register using a new e-mail address. Is it possible to change your display name for the forums? I couldn't find anyyhing on my account page. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Hey everyone, I do own a flash drive, but I also would like to know if a CD could support the PortableApps suite? Thanks for reading!

There's been talk recently about running apps with limited privileges on an administrator's account. But how about the other way around. You are a user with limited rights and you need to run something as admin. You can try sudowin. I'm not too sure if it can be made portable, 'cause it's used with the "right-click" context menu, and it seems to require .NET.
