Why are there no portable encryption Tools to download?
What would you recommend to use for password protection/encryption for my PortableApps USB Drive?
Thanks.
I would like to know whether it would be possible to "license" the PortableApp launcher, so that it is not under GPL.
Here is the whole story.
Alfresco is an Enterprise Content Management software, and we have been shipping "LibreOffice Portable" as part of the installer, to perform some transformation on documents. Alfresco is dually licensed: LGPL and Commercial.
Lately, more and more of our customers are getting nervous about GPL components, and we have to argue with them to convince that it's OK. We would like to stop doing that.
I've been working on .NET support in our ecosystem for a little while. It's been a bit complicated settling on a proper way to do things so that it 'just works' for the end user and they don't need to worry about things. For context, here's the state of .NET support in the various versions of Windows we support:
For XAMPP (preconfigured server; includes Apache, MySQL, and PHP so you can run most websites and webapps directly from it.)
I think the PA's description needs information adding to it for Windows XP users (https://portableapps.com/apps/development/xampp)
I've been a member of this forum for 7 years 7 months. I've seen a lot of people come and go, and I've enjoyed watching this community grow and the selection and quality of apps increase each year. When I logged on tonight, to catch up on forum posts, I was greeted by a post who's subject line was " Nah, I'm thinking ***** bigger than brain ".
I was wondering if I could put it all (with some adjustments) on a 32 GB flash drive.
Where is the DOWNLOAD button?
The same question was asked on this form on 2006

The problem was blamed on the users computer.
I have the same problem.
I have tried 3 different browsers and 3 different computers.
I have also called a friend and asked him to go on this site and he also can not see the:
“ big red download button”
I can download the app from here:
Once i have a program as a Portable Apps specification
how do i publish it on your site?
And dose it cost any money to publish?
As many folks know, we've wanted to add file associations to the PortableApps.com Platform for a while now, but we've wanted to do it well. A good chunk of the underpinnings are done though the UI is unfinished. Unfortunately, Windows 8, 8.1, and 10 don't permit apps to adjust file associations and then set them back anymore the way we had planned when developing for Windows XP/Vista/7. Associations must go through the OS with the user being prompted to change them.
