Google Chrome Operating System

The google chrome os is set to come out soon!!! Its open source and I was wondering if we could have this actually portable. I was wondering though if anyone knew if it would be possible to actually download the whole thing (not like google chrome portable, where you have to have a local install). Is there any license issues? Maybe we could get around it and portable-ize an *unofficial* version of it (from here: http://www.bestfreewaredownload.com/freeware/t-free-google-operating-sys...)

Since this is an add-on for an application, it won't get a full front-page announcement as with normal applications. But, now that the server issues have been fixed, Diashapes has been released!

Description: Diashapes is a small tool to download and install additional shapes (often called symbols or objects) into Dia Portable. It installs alongside your existing Dia Portable installation.

Download Details:
1.6MB download / 2.1MB installed

I'm just curious why people use download managers these days. Over the years I've used all manner of different ones that have come and gone. However, these days, the fact is, I find that I rarely need one (if at all), for several reasons:

Is there a "FolderMatch" application ?

Submitted by Mel_3 on October 11, 2009 - 8:43pm

I'm looking for a portable application that will compare files in a folder and sub-folders and allow you to copy or sync as you choose.

There is a commercal application I really like named FolderMatch at FolderMatch.com but it cost $35 and it seems you have to buy a seperate copy for every PC you service.

1 - Is there a portable app like FolderMatch?
2 - Can you convert a standard app to a PortableApp?

Thanks for any help.

Benchmarking portable web browsers

Submitted by roystonlodge on October 7, 2009 - 6:08pm

Howdy,

On my computer at work, I do not have administrator rights, and the IT department still only allows Internet Explorer 7.

So I've downloaded every portable web browser I can find, and I'm going through the process of benchmarking them all using Peacekeeper at http://service.futuremark.com/peacekeeper

The following are the browsers I've found that don't get caught up in the IT department's security policies. I'll be benchmarking them all:

IE7
K-Meleon
Seamonkey 1.1.18
Seamonkey 2.0 beta
Opera
QTWeb
SRWare Iron
Lunascape
Safari 3.2.2
Safari 4.0 beta
