I know this subject has been run to death. And I also understand John's stance and I agree with closing apps before ejecting the usb stick. I generally do this, but on occasion something gets left open when I click on the eject utility on the PA menu.

How much of the purchase price of the USB Drives goes to the portable apps project?

I wish to know how much of the USB drive price goes to the Portableapps project. I sent in a donation, then it occurred to me, if the majority of the price of the companion USB drive went to the project, then I could buy the drive and most of what I spent would go to portable app development.

Since I don't really need another USB drive, there would be no other reason to actually order one.

It's been a long time since the Platform 12 beta was released and the stable version of 12 was promised a couple weeks later and it has been about a year since then plus the release of new apps has slowed down a lot since then. What happened to new apps and Platform v12?

I don't know if I write in the right topic, so sorry if I miss.

I Know that's not recommanded to still use OLD version of JAVA. But I dont have the choice. It is forced by the code of the target web site.

In fact, in France we have to used on line tools to make business with public institution. Well ... it exist one web site for each public institution. Each of them used a JAVA version and take no care of security update or product evolution.

But we have to do with, to work with them.

So, I brainstorming on this with my crew and we found an acceptable response.

I have many apps on my flash drive. Oh, who am I kidding? I practically live off of it. Anyways I have the PA Platform and have set a few apps to run on start-up of the platform (AquaSnap, AIMP, WinPenguins, etc.)So I plugged my flash drive into a school computer that has Windows 7 installed and has no Quick Start Menu and has task manager restricted. I forgot at the time and thus opened WinPenguins. A few minutes later, my Web Design class started. I tried every possible way I could think of to try and exit the program, but to no avail. In the end, I had to restart the computer.

Is anyone else seeing issues with the displaying of the PortableApps homepage? For the last 12-18 hours, a lot of the images seem to be missing (is the CDN working ok?). This is what I see with Firefox:

I am not able to install eclipse 4.2. The error is

I use a lot several of the portableapps programs. Once in a while, I like to go to the portableapps to check if there are any new interesting applications. Therefore, I was wondering if there is a list to subscribe for receiving an email any time there is a release of a new application (I am not talking about new updates for existing programs) with information about what the application does. It may already exist something like this, if so, please let me know. Otherwise, it would be interesting to have it in the near future.

Win.XP.SP3.

After I installed this app by executing the paf.exe, then running 'FoxitReaderPortable.exe', my firewall (Comodo) reports it as trying to modify registry keys in HKLM... !
The same for when exiting the app!

I thought PortableApps were supposed to run as 'standalone' and not make any file changes outside the directory they're installed in.

As I'm new to this scene, can anyone please advise?

well so in short of it

before i reinstalled windows and download update via PAP of Audacity (few months ago) audacity was working just fine

today i launch it and nothing happen after splash screen appear
i always install same programs and stuff on new windows (xp pro 32 by the way)

so there is no way it could be something im missing or installed wrong version i have same visuall c++ same netframework same service pack

i used uncle google and i found other guy who had same problem but well did not find solution
