"New" in forum topic disappeares

Simeon's picture
Submitted by Simeon on January 11, 2007 - 11:19am

When I haven't been logged in for a while, I always see the threads that where updated or answered to marked as "new". Then I can click on the "new" and it leads me directly to the new post.
But when the thread is longer than one page (like the "Whats on your portable?"-thread), it doesn't jump to the next new post.
Why?
Can it be fixed or is it drupal?

New launchers are now not running processors, how come?

Submitted by twnty3svn on January 11, 2007 - 5:27am

I just noticed, and I'm not sure how long its been like this, but how is it that the launcher no longer runs as a process? Is this because the launcher does not make any modifications to the registry, or clean up any files on exit?

Also is there a way to make the launcher use less memory? Currently the PAT 1.4.1 uses about 7mb memory.

Which App Syncs With MS Outlook?

Submitted by jkd_ba on January 10, 2007 - 7:28pm

I've recently became aware of PortableApps and have installed it on my thumbdrive. Previously had a U3 drive but it was "hit or miss" if it would work on other PCs'.

I'm wondering if any of you good people can refer me to which applications provides syncronization with MS Outlook, if any. I'd like to be able to have my calendar, address book, etc. accessible thru the drive.

Portable Apps Icon Shown under My Computer

Submitted by Themus on January 9, 2007 - 11:00pm

This is an Excellent work.

Is it possible to remove/add the icon to a usb key that contains the Portable Apps utility?

I just moved all my Portable Apps software to another usb key. I would like the Icon that shows up on under My Computer to be the icon for Portable Apps.

I then want to remove the icon from the old usb key. I need to keep the data on it as it is a self-booting boot network boot key.

The icon is great for identification purposes.

Hi, I'm new to this forum but I'm totally addicted to portable programs. It's a shame that there still are so many programs that need to be installed Biggrin

And that's exactly what I wanna ask you guys about. (I have searched this forum a couple of days ago and my search came up empty so I hope I'm not asking something that has been posted under different words)

BUG: non-default Windows font screws up launcher

Submitted by myvogonpoetry on January 8, 2007 - 9:42am

I have my default Windows font size up a notch from the default and it really screws up the look of the launcher. The right column is misplaced and the close button is not on the right "coordinates" to actually close the app.

It's not a huge deal since it's still all usable, but I thought I'd mention it. Screenshot:

freeCommander

Submitted by stromy93 on January 8, 2007 - 2:59am

I've been browsing on file managers here. Seems freeCommander comes up as a good one that many use. So I tried it. But on the PortableApps menu, I get an uninstall for freeCommander. I tried deleting the uninstall and it got it off the menu. Is it safe to actually delete the uninstall or not? Thanks!
