Moving portable apps to another PC

Submitted by portableappsin on May 18, 2019 - 1:57pm

Hi,

I am confused: I setup a new PC and copied all my portable apps to the new PC (to the very same location indeed). Nevertheless, if I open my portable chrome browser it reopens my last session but all my extensions are gone. Any thoughts why? I was the opinion that all data can be simply copied and that's it...

Add an ability to delete comments

Submitted by lwc on May 18, 2019 - 3:39am

Can you allow users to delete their own comments just like they can edit them?

If you look for a specific reason why it's needed other than privacy, then threads like https://portableapps.com/development/test have very obsolete comments, which cause their authors to get notified every time someone else posts a comment.
So please allow deleting one's own comments at least for this and similar threads if not just in general.

Adding fonts in Windows 10 w/o Admin rights

Submitted by rovf on May 2, 2019 - 6:49am

Following the advice by iglvzx in https://superuser.com/questions/118025/using-custom-fonts-without-admini... , I created a directory PortableApps/PortableApps.com/Data/Fonts and copied my ttf and otf files to this directory. Then I started PortableApps. Still, the fonts are not visible in the system.

Did I miss something?

How to disable the annoying "error on startup" message when I open apps that werent closed correctly?

Submitted by pap_use on May 2, 2019 - 4:45am

This problem persists for many years, is there any way to disable this error message? Interestingly, I do not have an error message for 2 portable applications that I made myself - Firefox and Thunderbird (in 2014).

I am fully aware that the incorrect closure of applications can lead to data loss and I don't care about.
