Is there a portable nx-client?
I would like to use a nx-client on a usb-stick. Is there a portable app whick works on an usb-stick? The client from nomachine.com needs admin-rights for the installation.

Is there some kind of portable app(or even a firefox add on) that will allow me to download this?
XMPlay from Un4seen Developments is a very good skinnable, portable audio player. Just copy it where you want it and it runs.

I wonder if a portable Lyx (and latex, of course) exists. Then, it would avoid me the effort of making it
Latex has already asked in conjunction with metapost (a postscript file generator) here : https://portableapps.com/node/2223 .

Is there a portable gcc on windows( I prefer to mingw, because it does not need extra dll as cygwin does), which supports the bash, autoconfigue comannd, so that I can compile most of the src on the command line like
./configure
make static
cd py_ext
make mingcmodule.so
make install
please note that I am not saying the portable devcpp IDE. Thanx
FreeBASIC is a QuickBASIC alternative, and it would be great if it could be made portable. I have found that it is much better with the FBide program, otherwise all programming must be done in a text editor like notepad, and compiled usin the windows command promp. Both programs are open source under the GNU GPL so it sould not be a problem. The website for both programs is www.freebasic.net
