Request Apps

Got a suggestion for an app that should be portable? Post it here.

Byond

It would be nice if someone could add Byond to Portable apps, it's a game network that lets you create your own games and play other peoples games online. I like playing Space Station 13 but Byond needs the internet, the college I go to doesn't allow it to connect but Firefox and aMSN etc work fine under portable apps.

I'd like PortableApps to bring the following to the PortableApps Platform, with the ones I most want with a star in front
Of course, all apps suggested are open source (though some are "kind of app" not "said app")
[Found/Made apps removed]

- Some sort of software to syncronise with the iPod that WORKS with iPod touch and iPhone

- * MIT's Scratch (yes, it's open source) this fun Kid's education game and animation maker would be BRILLIANT for portableapps

EXE or Command Launcher Plugin for Platform

Submitted by portableNic on May 5, 2009 - 2:29pm

There should be support for launching apps that are not made be PortableApps.com. I have altered programs that I would like to be able to launch from the Platform. Also I have made some programs that I would like to launch from the platform. An easy option menu item could take care of adding the path to any executable or run any command.

Qtpfsgui

Did a search for this, but didn't come up with any results on here.

Qtpfsgui is a photo processing software for creating High Dynamic Range (HDR) images. Like GIMP, it does some amazing things that are comparable to commercial software costing hundreds of dollars. It's open source, so I'm assuming it would be eligible to be created as a PortableApp. I've been using it on ubuntu for the past few weeks, and it's quite stable.

Autoupdater App

Submitted by Finklebender on May 4, 2009 - 2:01pm

How about an app that checks the version you have installed on your USB device and auto downloads and updates them , kinda like sumo or update checker utilities but auto installs as well ? I know some apps have the update ability in them, but it would be much easier if you have the entire suite installed to just run a version checker from time to time and it auto update only the apps that needed it

Thanks
