Celtx for creative & colaborative projects

Submitted by aahhaa on December 4, 2008 - 5:22pm

Celtx is a free, multiplatform, & global Firefox-based program that on one end handles the print formatting needs of scriptwriters, media & event producers, etc; and on the other handles planning and promotion of many kinds of complex productions.
(Most programs of this type cost hundreds or even thousands of dollars.)

It would be extremely handy to be able to carry Celtx around, most users wind up having it on several computers, with the resultant multiple versions of their work. It also is being used around the world by people who...well, aren't boring!:]

Chiming clock

Submitted by foxcole on December 4, 2008 - 11:17am

I was surprised I couldn't find anything like this online. I would like a desktop clock that chimes on the quarter hour (chiming incrementally like a grandfather clock so you can hear the specific hour, :15, :30, or :45) and that displays the current time.

Newzie is a great news reader that already runs portably (although I don't know if it leaves anything behind). It's not open source, but I was wondering if it would be possible for someone to create a launcher for it and make sure that it doesn't leave anything on the host computer. Here is the website: http://www.newzie.com/index.php and here is the license info: http://www.newzie.com/newzie_about.php?type=tou This is a great program.

Freespace2 scp portable?

Submitted by reprobator on December 3, 2008 - 10:06am

Hi,

I was wondering if any one has already done a portable version of frespace2 scp version?

If no, would it be feasable?

freespace is now a space shooter game , the engine is now open source and many mod/total conversion are done with this engine (wing commander, battlestar galactica starfox etc... )

The main link for scp community is there :

Best regards.
