Skype, PLEASE I AM BEGGING FOR THIS ONE!!!!!!!!!!

Submitted by KC2KLX on April 8, 2007 - 1:44pm

I think that Skype could be a good program to convert since it is a free download. This is very helpful for those who pay for their phone service. I would even pay to have a working version of this program as a portable application as I need it for business purposes. Please try it with this if you can I am not sure if it is an open source but go to www.skype.com and check it out. Thanks and good luck....

Portable Fonts?

Submitted by kingofpenguins on April 7, 2007 - 6:38pm

I'm not sure if this has been posted before (there really should be a search box), but I have a handful of fonts that I would like to be able to carry around with my portable apps (Hoefler Text and Gentium to name a couple). Is there anyway that this can be done so that fonts that I have on my flash drive can be used by portable apps in addition with the fonts installed on the computer?

Registry cleaner and defrag utility for usb pen?

Submitted by ik8vwa on April 7, 2007 - 4:16am

Since I have a laptop provided by my employer (Government) I cannot have full access to some Windows' functions such as the onboard defrag utiliy or installing a registry cleaner. This is clearly a problem if I want to do some maintenance to the system, so I was wondering if you can provide a reliable and portable (for usb pen drive) defrag utility and a registry cleaner.
Thanks a lot for your attention

ArgoUML as a portable app

Submitted by Halpo on April 6, 2007 - 12:47pm

How about ArgoUML as a portable app? I know that it is often run as a java web start app but it would be very handy if it was available as a portable app as well since I'm not always connected to the internet and not always on the same computer.

I imagine that it would only be a repackaging deal but I'm not sure. Is there anywhere that has directions as to how to properly package a portable App?

thanks

Scientific Calculator

Submitted by jessejazza on April 6, 2007 - 4:28am

I would be grateful for a scientific calculator as a portable app. There is Xcalc but this is reverse polish notation/HP which is difficult to use compared with DAL logic. I know it's only a question of what you're used to by HP style takes some getting used too.

thanks
