Under Operating Systems>Linux you should put a link to this Linux distro called Damn Small Linux because it is a 50MB distro of Linux. The website is www.damnsmalllinux.org.

This would be a cool portable app I think.

I would really like to see the following portable app. I think it would be a good defense against keystroke loggers and especially useful for username and password entry on a public computer.

The app would consist of an on screen keyboard in a standard layout. Below the letters/numbers there would be a different letter or number. For example the letter A might have the number 3 under it. The user could either click on the A, or they could use the number 3 on the keyboard to get an A. Each launch would render a different secondary layout.

Maybe this keyboard trapping and translation would be too difficult for a portable app running as non-admin, but at the very least an onscreen keyboard would thwart most logging attempts.

I'm fairly new to the site, but i've not anything in terms of 3d or non-linear editors. So what do you guys think?

Great 3d software, pretty much portable after the install.

Yafray is partly integrated into Blender as a plugin, and is semi-portable. Either way it would be nice to have a portable renderer available no matter which one it was.

I was wondering, Is it posible to compile a portable steam app, that gets a game from the server and compressit so that you can use it on a flash drive? the normal size for a regular install is 6.16 GB is there anyway in order to make it run on a flash drive?

I tried this App. and I think could be very useful for people who uses Portable Thunderbird and some providers lock the 25 port.

Is it possible to make a portable Zip utility such as “Portable 7-Zip”? I know that Windows XP can now open Zips, but what if you have a Rar, or some other file that Windows can’t open. What do you do then? Or how many of you have been working on someone else’s pc, that doesn’t have XP on it and needed to open a file only to fined they haven’t got WinZip either. I know I have. In those situations when you haven’t got the internet at your disposal to download WinZip, a program like that would be invaluable. Can anyone out there make one...?
