Would be great to have an alternative to VirtuaWin, that sometimes does not work very well on my computer.

I'm found mDesktop, that is very lightweight, but still configurable.

Also, according to the following link, it is already portable:

quick search shows that this has been requested before, but not for a while. Please consider adding Quantum GIS to the stable - QGIS is open source (GNU Public License) and runs great off a thumbdrive. Well it used to at any rate. Recent versions are not so happy (and probably older versions were never properly portable).

Cryptsync is one of the best available SW for saving files on the cloud securely.
It is all fully open source. Would be nice to make it a portable app.

I noticed that it saves settings in the registry.
Perhaps this is the only thing to be handled for making it portable.
(Saving settings in a .ini file).
