So I am using Realplayer for the most part, though I do use Coolplayer and VLC for some things.
My problem is that I like Realplayer for only one reason, because it has that function of recognizing my mp3 player and letting me download music to and from it, and to set up playlists for the mp3 player.

Does anyone have any good apps that are out there that does that? It doesn't have to be fully portable.

I just want something on my usb key that uses the Music folder on my key(orwhereever) and recognizes my Sandisk Clip, and lets me download music to and fro w/ playlists.

... and FREE.

Would be nice to carry indexes of all your PCs around with you on the USB drive. At any moment, you could locate any file, directory or other and identify on which PC it lives.

Gaviri works well, but its paidware. How about PortableCopernic perhaps? Its fast and got a good interface.

I don't know if this qualifies as an apps request, but i would love to see an application that checks for updates for all installed apps on your portable drive and gives you the option to upgrade. This could be an option part of the suite itself or a standalone application.

Hey I've found the need for a good Free PDF editor (Text, Images and all) growing. Can anyone who is aware of a good program please post their ideas so that the developers can pick one to work on.
