Request Apps

Did a quick search and didn't see another topic on this one.

Evolution is a free package from Novell, and is available for Windows based systems as well as Linux systems. I find it to be nicer than Thunderbird because of the Calendar integration - in fact it looks very much like Outlook, only far lighter and faster.

Is this one a possibility?

Also - thanks for all the hard work - you do excellent stuff on this site!

Launchy is a great file/application launcher that would be great for a thumbdrive here is the site: http://www.launchy.net/. Please make it portable since all you have to o is set up keystrokes and you can launch something with those strokes.

This buttonbar would make a great addition over the clumsy quicklaunch, esp now that the author writes all settings to ini files...

I have only used this a wee bit and it seems very good, better than NVU as a javascript (& general web) editor for my uses.

It's open source, and still in beta, but it seems very close already to being able to run from portable media - only required setting that I know of is a per-session temp dir ('workspace').

Is it suitable for portableapps?

This isn't exactly a request for an app, but rather a way to run other apps... A few apps I'd like to run off my thumb drive (for example, the Jedi Window Dock app).

Basically, I'm hoping for the .NET runtime 2.0 in a ZIP format (or self extractor or whatever, but due to the whole portable thing an installer wouldn't work) and a batch file or something to set the proper environment variables, so when I go to run a .NET app it'll start up without whining about the fact that the runtime isn't installed.

Not sure how possible this would be, but if you guys can get this working, I'd be very grateful.

I've been using a few portable apps for a while, and Id like to request if CDBurnerXP Pro could be made portable?
I know it's been spoken about on their own forum too, but no one seems to take the hint.
It's got to be one of the best free (I think it's opensource)burners out there and I'd like to use it on the move.

You could try and make avant browser portable because it is already 3MB on my USB drive. You could make it even smaller!

It would be really cool to have a free portable multiplayer first person shooter.

Could we make Tribes portable? Or would it be better to start from something else?

I think it would be great to have a portable google earth to transfer between home and work, or take it to the library (which has a faster connection) or just to have with you at all times, flashdrives are getting more storage space all the time, so if the app is 10-20 MB, or more, it's really not an issue anymore!

I have found a browser that works just as good as firefox, It works a lot better with sound & movie file downloads its called "Flock" www.flock.com. I think it may make a good Portable browser.
