PortableApps.com Menu, Backup and Platform/Suite installer.
I accidentally deleted my autorun config file. Can anyone give me the code that goes in it. Thanks!
When I refresh the menu I am able to move the pointer up and down over the app names smoothly for a few seconds and then it goes back to being super slow again.
I recently put together a little utility that I call Convert to EXE. Although the PortableApps.com suite does now allow you to add batch files to the menu, when they launch you still get an ugly cmd window. My tool will launch any file, and does so with a hidden cmd window. This is ideal for adding apps that use batch files to make registry updates before and after they execute.
This is sar3th's Guide on adding batch files to the PortableApps.com Platform with screenshots. Anyone who reads through this and follows these simple steps should be able to add any batch file to his/her PortableApps.com Platform
Note: depending on your operating system and your settings, your system might look a bit different than mine. This shouldn't be a problem though, since you will find all the required things in your system at the same place.
So I'll admit it, I've still been using PStart until just last month because the pa.c platform launcher was missing some things I really liked. Still is, but I'll bug ya later about that.
I plugged my flash drive into my PC tonight, and started getting hit with virus warnings from Avast Antivirus. It "found" and moved a trojan horse (Win32:Delf-MZG) from several files:
from VirtualMagnifyingGlassPortable -- magnifier.exe and pas_overlays.dll reported as infected.
from PortableApps.com -- PortableAppsPlatform.exe reported as infected.
from PDFTKBuilderPortable -- PDFTKBuilder.exe reported as infected.
I have installed the last version of application on USB key.
I installed over third part application and this function correctly.
This program require to write into a folder during function but isn't possible because the folder for application have read only attribute.
I try to eliminate this but remain.
What could i do?
I work in xp pro SP2, with user administrator
I successfully 'backuped' PA from the USB stick. However, when I tried to backup PA installation on the HD partition D\Portable\, the backup utility tried to backup the entire partition and reported a failure. Anybody had this experience? Is backup utility really supposed to work this way (which is unlikely)?
I didn't realize that there was a Portable Apps suite until after I installed and customized my portable Firefox (with addons), GoodSync2Go, RoboForm2Go. What if I wanted to install Portable Apps suite especially with GUI but don't want to reinstall portable Firefox, GoodSync2Go, RoboForm2Go on my portable hard drive? Is that possible?
Thanks

Following the example of the Win7 theme plugin, here's one I call "Windows Classic". I am often using RDP sessions, so less colors and color effects is *always* a good thing for speed reasons. This theme is just that: flat and boring, but color-matched to the "Windows Classic" themes.
Find it here.
