I need help !

I'm using portable apps already a long time.

beside other applications, my complete private email history was on the stick.
Unfortunately the complete Thunderbird directory on the stick got corrupted yesterday.

Ok so I tried to restore my latest backup. The restore from portableapps took the backup file to restore it without reporting an error. Thought everything is fine. But it did not restore the Thunderbird (which I deleted on the stick before because it was corrupt).

Is the PortableApps.com Platform compatible with Windows CE 5.0 and or Windows 2000?

I want to suggest a option to use a portable file explorer, like FreeCommander or Xenon, instead of Windows Explorer, when you click explore/documents/etc buttons on PortableApps Platform.

(backup you original files first!)

go to:
.:\PortableApps\PortableApps.com\App\DefaultData\Themes\Default\menu_icons

all icons involve in the platform resides there.
change it to whatever icons you might like!

one more thing the icon type is "png" not .ico! 24x24

Hi, I'm new here, though I've been using PortableApps for just under a year now. I'm wondering this: is there any way to reroute the folder shortcuts (e.g. My Documents, My Music, etc) to new locations? I'm wondering because I currently have ProtableApps installed on my MP3 player, and would like for the "My Music" link in the menu to direct to "%root%\MUSIC", instead of "%root%\Documents\Music"

Stellarium causes permanentely problems:
1) I installed and it said always NO SPACE and I found the information copied the ini file and then the message came "encountered error, must close down".
I really do not understand why portableapps.com recommends such rubbish applic.

I post this in "platform" forum because it looks like the issue is not application specific :
- when I update Firefox or Thunderbird with PortableApps Updater, the application language automatically switch to english after installation.
- if I download the french version and run a manual update, the language is french, as expected.
I'm wondering if PortableApps Updater is aware of user language when it downloads updates for firefox and thunderbird.
Any ideas ?

Can I download the source of portableapps menu, change some code (for my own purpose) compile and use it only in my own USB drive? with no problems about copyright or this stuff?

and is it possible, change the source and compile my version? what compiler do I need?

and what is the language that it is built? I know something about C/C++

I am trying to make TeXnicCenter portable (and make it work with miktex-portable), I have managed to make it start just fine, but since it saves most of the settings to registry I have stumbled upon problems.

The registry key values has directory paths such as:
