ssh and programming editor app

Submitted by ripcrd on September 6, 2006 - 4:54pm

Need some editor that does syntax highlighting, formatting/indention, code completion, ascii codes, partial code collapsing, shows diffs, can save text files in *nix format, useful for multiple languages, has a Linux equivalent that I can get in Ubuntu/Debian. I will be programming in assembler, Python, Java, C, C++, Perl, bash, and maybe VB. Most that I've found concentrate on HTML, only do half of what I want, are non-free and most of all, are not portable. I have Linux LiveCDs, but want to do some work/study in various places where booting another OS might freak some people out and get me in trouble.

Crap Cleaner

Can you make crap cleaner portable, there already is something like it, but it writes settings to registry, and you have to be admin. can you make it where it stores settings on a file, like all the others?

iTunes

iTunes is a really popular music player. How can I get it on to a USB drive? I think Ceedo is working on a way, but I don't feel like buying a licence. Thanks!

Portable Inkscape

Hello Portable App people Smile --
I would love Portable Inkscape (or is it Inkscape Portable... /me doesn't like the new names). It would be great companion for GIMP Portable as well as Blender. As far as I know, Blender is already portable. It's a great 3D program; it's cross-platform, less than 16MB, and runs off a USB key/iPod/whatever. If you've ever wanted to try 3D software, it's a great program. A bit hard to learn, but there are plenty of tutorials, and it isn't too hard if you put in a bit of effort.

Anyway, Portable Inkscape would rock.
