not anything like bitcommet but "BitTorrent". like from www.bittorrent.com. its free (like most) and if we can get something going with them and make this portable that would be awesome because it has a sweet, easy to use and dumb a$$ friendly user interface, not to mention it is pretty fast. so......

XMMS2

Submitted by got.no.guts on June 11, 2007 - 3:35am

I noted a post asking for XMMS to be made portable for Windows.
The response was that XMMS is Linux/BSD only, and if there was a Windows Port to post it.

XMMS2 has gone to a client/server model... and both the client and server are available.

Esperanza is the client
XMMS2 is the server

Is it possible to build a single package of this pair as a portable app?

Port Scanners

How about port scanners? Nmap? Angry IP Scanner? They are both great open source tools. I actually have them on my Papps menu, but there are a few issues (like saving the scanning results and configuration) that doesn't make them fully portable.

Family Album

I was given the job of scanning a bunch of family pictures to make CDs for all the relatives. Does anyone know of a simple portable app that will view TIFs and allow for text descriptions? Thumbnails might be nice too, but not required. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

VirtuaWin: Have a portable Virtual Desktop Manager/Switcher

Submitted by DelphyM on June 8, 2007 - 12:13pm

Hello,
portable Apps are great peace of work with very useful and handy apps like for WebApps development. Incredible.

I've already using it along with other unported apps like Mplayer, Winamp, totalCMD,... which was quite easy to make them portable and everybody can done it itself:-)

The thing I miss is portable Virtual Desktop Manager for Windows.
There is already such great one GPL: VirtuaWin
And this one seems not so easy to make it portable and probably others could appreciate too.

is there any chance of anyone makeing virtual clonedrive, clone drive and bolth ePSXe and any ps2 emulater compat with the PAM? virtual clonedrive is a cd drive emulater that fakes a cd drive so you can mount iso files to it. clone drive copys and burns certan files off of cds like playstation and ps2 disks. ePSXe is a playstation x emulater (i have the bios so there will not be any problem there) and a ps2 emulater would emulate a playstation 2. if there is any way to make these portable that would be friggin awsome. there all free and i dont know about open source.
