KeePassX is open source and cross-platform

Submitted by aeohipo on October 23, 2008 - 11:56pm

I would like to see a portable version of KeePassX (http://www.keepassx.org/). Its interface is very similar as KeePass Password Safe's but this is cross-platform. I have installed Windows XP and Ubuntu in my PC and I just need one password file for the two systems. Both versions can read and write the same password file without language code issues (my native language is Spanish). I think it would be fantastic if I could carry this app in my USB stick along with my pass file in order to access my keys anywhere on the road.

Record Streaming Video and Audio

Submitted by zkatai on October 23, 2008 - 3:32pm

I am looking for a program, which can record streaming video and audio from web pages ( like youtube etc...) Currently I am using Moyea FLV downloader (www.flvsoft.com) for video, and FreeRecorder (http://applian.com/sound-recorder/) for audio. As I understood, they are free but not open source. It would be great to have something similar in PortableApps.

Gimp Python

Submitted by shawymonkey on October 20, 2008 - 5:15pm

Ive seen a version of blender in beta testing that was using python for its scripting, and although gimp already comes with its scheme interpreter I was wondering if it were in anyway possible to be able to use python for gimp as a portable app. Im not sure how helpful this would be but heres some of the documentation on it, Im guessing only the first paragraph or 2 would be of use.
http://www.gimp.org/docs/python/index.html
sry if this has come up before I searched and didnt find anything..
