Got a suggestion for an app that should be portable? Post it here.
Would it be possible to create such a thing?
Hey guys!
First a small praise for portableapps: Greate site with good stuff !!!!
And now my idea/wish:
I want to have a portable mp3-archiever on my usb-hard disk. For example the mp3-explorer (www.mp3-explorer.com).
This is a quite old and simple (but genius) mp3-archiver ....
It scans a directory (or more directories) for mp3s, and saves their detailled informations in specific files. Now he is able to display all songs sorted by interpret, genre or album ..... take a look (great program an well arranged!)
i think it would be nice to have the gdrive on a usb drive to help expand the capabilities of your flash drive, because i simply cant keep all my music, pics, videos, and reports in one place anymore
Sc1 - a upx compressed single executable file based on the Scite code on sourceforge. http://scintilla.sourceforge.net/SciTEDownload.html. It provides syntax highlighting for about 16 languages (including xml, html, c/c++, c#, java, javascript, vb, vbscript, shell, sql, ruby, python, php, perl) and can be configured to compile & run . Its only about 500k too.
It is like the Crayon game, only much better. Check out the little sample video too.

IrfanView would be great as a portable application.
I recently downlaoded Portapps suite and many other apps to create the equivalent of a portable pc. And I love it. portableapps RULES.
However one thing I noticed was in short supply were games. Below is a list of suggestions that I think would make good small games that people can have on their USB with out taking up much space and that I hope are easy enough for the legends here at portable apps to recreate.
1. Mario Forever 4
2. Air Assault 2
3. Visual Boy Advance (This is able to be converted using the U3 package creator so hopefully a sinch for portapps co.)
I'm not sure about any Open Source programs that do this, but I would really like to see a portable Disc Image emulator, like DAEMON tools... Unless there already is a portable program that does this...
