Portable Songbird

Submitted by malikorx@gmail.com on February 3, 2008 - 4:03am

Before I go into any details, I would just like to say that yes, I know there have been several other posts about this particular program. But I am posting again because I would like to point out that Songbird is still in development and it is unlikely that a portable version can be made if there is no official release of the application yet. So for anyone who would like to request Songbird as a PortableApp, be patient and wait for them to work out the bugs.

Portable MIDI Sequencers

Submitted by eltonbrad on February 1, 2008 - 1:38pm

Hi everyone,

I was wondering, are there any MIDI sequencers that are Open Source that aren't text-based that can be made portable. Sometimes, I'd like to be able to go to someone's house and make MIDI files with it. It'll be good if it has a staff view, a piano roll and also tempo/transpose MIDI features.

Portable CAD

Hi,
I've been looking for something like this ever since I started on computers ... but alas nothing really usefull ever crossed my path. I did use some sort of simple CasCADe in the late nineties but have since lost the program and "Open Cascade" today is far too difficult for my purpose. I was quite thrilled therefore when I found Cademia on www.cademia.org .

Wake on Lan

Submitted by abnormal on January 31, 2008 - 5:54pm

It would be nice to have a program so that when I am using a computer at work/school and need something stored my computer at home which is off to save money/environment, I could wake it using a portable app. I've found some that are not portable, does anyone know of an open source version that could possibly get modified for portableapps.com?

Portables ON portables specifically Clamwin

Submitted by Lahru on January 31, 2008 - 12:13pm

I've not tried using it yet, but I would like to see a port of Clamwin or another AV (freeware or Opensource) able to be used on the Windows Mobile platforms. Its nice to have the software as it stands, but I think that any of the current portable apps would get a broader user base were that possible.

(I'm no developer or I might try this myself.) =\
