I was wondering, Is it posible to compile a portable steam app, that gets a game from the server and compressit so that you can use it on a flash drive? the normal size for a regular install is 6.16 GB is there anyway in order to make it run on a flash drive?
the install file is at http://www.steampowered.com/index.php?area=getsteamnow
can it be done?
I tried this App. and I think could be very useful for people who uses Portable Thunderbird and some providers lock the 25 port.
What do you guys think about of this program???
Thanks in advance

Is it possible to make a portable Zip utility such as “Portable 7-Zip”? I know that Windows XP can now open Zips, but what if you have a Rar, or some other file that Windows can’t open. What do you do then? Or how many of you have been working on someone else’s pc, that doesn’t have XP on it and needed to open a file only to fined they haven’t got WinZip either. I know I have. In those situations when you haven’t got the internet at your disposal to download WinZip, a program like that would be invaluable. Can anyone out there make one...?
I've read a few requests / comments in these forums regarding a lightweight and portable Linux distribution.
One such distribution, which is already packaged ready for a USB key, is Puppy Linux (http://www.puppylinux.org) with a footprint of approximately 60MB.
A video exists showing how to mount Puppy Linux on a USB key (http://rhinoweb.us/howtomountausbkey.htm).
Puppy Linux's mission statement says:
* Puppy will easily install to USB, Zip or hard drive media.
* Booting from CD, Puppy will load totally into RAM so that the CD drive is then free for other purposes.
* Booting from CD, Puppy can save everything back to the CD, no need for a hard drive.
Can anyone suggest a good open source e-mail client that I could install
as a portable application on my jump drive that would work with
Microsoft Exchange? I tried Thunderbird and it doesn't work well with
it. I can use Firefox with IE tabs to get to the web version of Outlook
but I would like to avoid that. Something that could import my
contacts, calendar, tasks would be great!
