Access Logger

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on January 6, 2006 - 2:35am

Hi

I got a 128MB USB Memory Stick that I need for school. I'm wondering if there's a program available that will log the IP Address, time and date of every access of the device.

e.g. If anyone inserted it into a PC, it would automatically send me an e-mail with the IP Address of the computer and the time and date that it was accessed.

Thanks for reading

any Spreadsheet ideas?

Submitted by justin on January 5, 2006 - 7:45pm

I have wrote extensively about Spread32, but it doesn't work with Excel, so I am putting out a call for someone to either find or create a spreadsheet with Excel read/write and some functionality. It shouldn't be bloated with stuff I don't need, it should be lean. Other people have requested this, so I think that there is really a genuine interest in this. Reply with ideas.

Java For Portable Firefox

it would be nice to be able to install java (among other plugins i'm sure)
as to avoid having to install java on any computer that didn't already have it
this might be the wrong place to post this, maybe i should tell Sun and hope
for a java extension. anyway just a thought.

Portable Spreadsheet App

PORTABLE APPS RULE!!!

1 suggestion though:

It would be nice to have a portable spreadsheet application compatible with Excel (like Portable AbiWord is compatible with Word).

Portable OpenOffice.org is Great, just a bit too big to be really portable.

Password Manager

My biggest reason for using a USB flash drive is to carry a strongly encrypted file with all of the passwords that I'm likely to need and prone to forget. I have used KisKis (http://kiskis.sourceforge.net/) and have tried to use KeePass (http://keepass.sourceforge.net/).

I'm not sure either of these are the best of solutions, but I would be a huge advocate of portable apps if I could get a good portable password manager.

PStart start automatically when plugged

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on January 5, 2006 - 1:46am

Sorry I didn't know what category to put it into.

I have pstart.exe installed on my usb drive and I was wondering how do we do so it starts automatically when the usb drive is put in the computer. Is it possible? If so plus explain in detail how I can do that. I also would want that without installing anything on each computer

Thanks

Jon
