Smart Diary Suite

Submitted by Tenzen on April 7, 2013 - 9:18pm

Smart Diary Suite Portable Free Edition is the best Portable Journal I've found..

Rednotebook lacks too much functionality & easy of use to be a viable replacement.. its difficult to use its bullet system, and it lacks a useful editing toolbar, and its 2 views are a really outdated & non-intuitive way of working

but its the best of the portableapps journals ive found

but I'd love to see a portableapps journal tool like Smart Diary Suite, with a similar Rich text editor supporting graphics & video, and with an easy bullet & indent system, and easy export functions...

TOR Chat Portable (Secure Chatclient)

Submitted by ot4ku on April 7, 2013 - 5:54am

Hello,
i would do it myself if i would know how, but i cant, maybe someone here can do it.

TORChat is a lightwight "portable" Chatclient that is using the TOR stealth Network and dosent need any installation.

Download: https://github.com/prof7bit/TorChat/downloads
Info: https://github.com/prof7bit/TorChat

The PROBLEM right now is that the client when you start it extracts Files into the "TEMP" Directory of Windows, so its not 100% portable. Would it be possible to make it like many portable apps to use only the folder from where its started?

thanks in advance!

Submitted by snowbird on April 6, 2013 - 2:00pm

You can find the original here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/googlesyncmod/
This app. really helps to add contacts and synchronize from google gmail and microsoft outlook (making it easier to add contacts to an android phone or to a blackberry).
I wish I could do it myself but I would spend about a month just to figure out how to start. Thanks portableapps for a great apps that make it easy to work with computers while on the go.

Is it possible to include R and RStudio?

Submitted by dottami on April 5, 2013 - 11:10pm

Hi

R is a powerful statistical computing environment (http://www.r-project.org/) RStuido is an IDE for R development (http://www.rstudio.com/). Both these applications have strong user groups and, moreover, the former is becoming a standard tool in the academic fields.

Basically it may not be so difficult to install both in a portable drive as following

--Installing R on a USB drive (http://personal.bgsu.edu/~mrizzo/Rmisc/usbR.htm)
--Creating a Portable Version of RStudio for a USB Drive (http://support.rstudio.org/help/kb/faq/creating-a-portable-version-of-rs...)

What about including ccleaner 4 portable ?

Submitted by christinat on April 3, 2013 - 11:13am

Few days ago CCleaner 4.0 was released.

The program is also available in a portable version. I might include it manually in my collection, no problem. But then there will be no automatic updates.

Therefore I would appreciate very much if CCleaner would be included in PortableApps.

What do you think?
