Request Apps

I would like some kind of p2p program to communicate / chat over intRAnet LANs with NO INTERNET. If our internet goes down, it'd be nice to still be able to chat with each other within the same building. I mean, it's absurd to use the internet to talk to someone in the next room as most people recommend nowadays when you've got a router that's perfectly capable of sending the messages without any internet services being required.

I happened on this free download which claims to diagnose flash drives:

This or something like it might be useful to a lot of people. (ie I happened on reviews for TrueCrypt, found two warring groups- like they were from different planets: 'it ate my data grrr!' & 'works wonderful for me, you idjit!'

(I don't know enough about hardware issues, but it seemed many had pulled the drives while still writing.)

DivFix++ is complete rewrite of "DivFix" program due it's bugs and low performance. This program designed to repair broken AVI file streams by rebuilding index part of file. This is very useful when trying to preview movies which has no index part, like some files are currently downloading from ed2k or bittorent networks.
DivFix++ has supports CLI tools, this means you can fix a file to temporary location, preview with a player, than delete temporary movie file after preview automatically via script by using argument parameters...

Is there a portable partitioning software? The only ones I have found on google are ones on live cds or ones you have to pay for. It would help me a lot if you could make one. Thank you

Ketarin is a small application which automatically updates setup packages. As opposed to other tools, Ketarin is not meant to keep your system up-to-date, but rather to maintain a compilation of all important setup packages which can then be burned to disc or put on a USB stick.

Tutorial on how to manually add software to track. There is also an online database, click on the down arrow on the button Add new application and a search window will open.

Has anyone researched the viability of DropBox (http://getdropbox.com) as a portable app?

The emesene team have already produced a portable version of their application but I would prefer a version that has the PortableApps wrapping, not only becuase of uniformity in my portable collection but for intergration witht the portable apps menu.

It is very similar to pidgin in design but with a more MSN/WLM based style
