Do you know any open source ftp server?
I would like to see something like hfs - http://www.rejetto.com/hfs/, which is a very good portable webserver.

I was looking through a pcworld.ca article called "Great Free Files: 20 Fantastic Open Source Downloads" and I stumbled across this utillity that scans a network and creates a list of everything attached to that network.
RogueScanner web page: http://www.networkchemistry.com/products/roguescanner.php
Since I couldn't find it in the search area, I thought I would put a request in for it.
Hi all,
I'm an Oracle DBA and a flash drive user. I use the Oracle SQL*Plus instant client and Command Prompt Portable to take care of most things, but a nice Admin tool is what I've been looking for. I think I may have finally found the thing! Please check out TOra - the Toolkit for Oracle. The website is http://tora.sourceforge.net/.
Hi everybody, I have tried Foxit Reader and Sumatra PDF as well as a few other PDF viewers not available on this site, but all of them are missing an important feature: automatically reloading the file when it has been modified (preferably at the same position/zoom). This is important for me because I use LaTeX for typesetting, and I'd like to quickly see what I type in the generated PDF file.
Any pointers?
Thanks in advance
-Stephan.
Excuse me while I duck...
Here's the story, I love OpenOffice.org, but I live in a Microsoft world. I love PortableApps, but I live in a Microsoft world. This means I needs DOCX support for OpenOffice.org, because I have lots of those and I like to carry some of them around with me.

We could use an image editor here. I was unable to find an open source image editor that looked good and wasn't written in python. Does anyone know of one?
I think that Jetico BCArchive is such a fantastic program which really beats any other archive format in terms of security hands down, so I'd love it to be made into a portable application.
Hi,
I have been looking for some kind of basic collection of programs and tools used in the the Unix and GNU/Linux field.
I think that a basic but interesting combination of tools is present in UnxUtils (see in sourceforge). However, that project seems to be discontinued since 2004 and there is not any portable version for this collection of tools.
When you have to manage and edit huge amounts of information is always useful gawk, sed, join, grep or diff and some decent shell.
