Got a suggestion for an app that should be portable? Post it here.
any chance of you guys making virtualdub into a portable app
Hi,
Are there any engineering portable applications like MatLab and UGS I-DEAS NX??
I have them install on my PC, can i make them portable?
I know that they are very large programs but there are 8GB drives out there now, so it should be ok..
Thanks
tftp client and lan IM client (and or server) does anyone know of any? .paf complince isnt an issue and true portabiltiy as well they just have to be open source or freeware (not annoying adware/freeware)
Well the following post : https://portableapps.com/node/1774 seems to be closed, so I'll re-open it here
I think building an app that would mount iso's is possible, because the following app :
http://www.yadabyte.com/Yadabyte_Portables.php
(look for Yadabyte Disk)
can mound an encrypted disk, and I don't think it requires administrative rights.
Note : yadabyte disk is marked as "temporarily unavailable" bu once I managed to download it - not the source code however ;( - by hitting random files - it's file number 56 or something like this
Installwatch is a great little app i use for recording and documenting changes to systems (see below)
http://www.epsilonsquared.com/
I've had a look and can't see it on the forum is it or another app with the same function available as a portable app?
Thanks
Anyone in need of a portable image viewer I would suggest Faststone viewer at Faststone.com. I is self contained and easily added to the apps already installed.
The new site is http://www.pidgin.im/ and new version had been released!
It would be great to have qemu as a portable ap. In fact, I think someone already did it, maybe you could request him/her to list it here: http://www.erikveen.dds.nl/qemupuppy/index.html#3.0.0 (see table for the file "allinoneqemu.exe").r
If qemu becomes portable, making portable linux distros would be easier than anything.
Thanks.
It would be great if we could use Skype on a USB drive
http://windjview.sourceforge.net/
A viewer for .djvu eBooks.
GPL license.
Small app (~500KB download for .exe installer)
Would be useful in a similar way to SumatraPDF - obviously .djvu is less common than .pdf but anyone with a djvu file would suddenly find this *very* useful!
Not yet tested (just downloaded, currently running Linux) but the installed folder might be near-portable as it is.
Any questions/feedback welcome, all programmers worshipped...
