Would it be possible to build a portable version of a Gnutella p2p client (preferably Frostwire)?? This would be great, because I constantly travel and use multiple computers, and this way I can download without having to install and uninstall the program over and over. It would be right there in my ipod.
Could the executables be made to run on apple computers?
Open Object REXX (oorexx) has become my favored scripting language for system administration type operations. Since it is so powerful and useful, would it be possible to make it a portable application (for use on a flash drive or usb powered usb drive)?
Since already I have some trouble with this new kind of "viruses" it will be a confortable app to have a portable spyware protection, since over hear sometimes it kill three layer defense, as a final protection.Thank You John
Could YPOPs be made portable? It is open source. Or is there a Yahoo! Mail Extension? I couldn't find one.
In theory, what would one have to do in order to make The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion portable? For one, I know Registry Rapper would be a must.
And it would be god-awful slow from a thumb drive.
What about just normal games though? Like maybe simCity 3000 Unlimited? That wouldn't be as stressful as Oblivion and it would be nice to be able to play it on these school computers.
Under Operating Systems>Linux you should put a link to this Linux distro called Damn Small Linux because it is a 50MB distro of Linux. The website is www.damnsmalllinux.org.
Mozilla has a nifty project going on at http://www.mozilla.org/projects/seamonkey/
This would be a cool portable app I think.
I would really like to see the following portable app. I think it would be a good defense against keystroke loggers and especially useful for username and password entry on a public computer.
The app would consist of an on screen keyboard in a standard layout. Below the letters/numbers there would be a different letter or number. For example the letter A might have the number 3 under it. The user could either click on the A, or they could use the number 3 on the keyboard to get an A. Each launch would render a different secondary layout.
Maybe this keyboard trapping and translation would be too difficult for a portable app running as non-admin, but at the very least an onscreen keyboard would thwart most logging attempts.
