Got a suggestion for an app that should be portable? Post it here.
Anyone knows where to get it?
As a member of newzbin.com i make great use of the .nzb filetype that they utilise.
I know there are many "newsgroup readers" out there but not many make use of nzb's
I personally use "grabit" but this might not be portable. Here's a list of nzb compatible appz. Any thoughts?
I don't know if it's the right section to post, because I am fairly sure that Doxygen (http://www.stack.nl/~dimitri/doxygen/index.html) is already portable. The program directory is around 12 MB with docs and GUI, and from the site is possible to download a "non-installer" version.
Hi,
You might also be intrested in OS Zoo (http://free.oszoo.org/download.php).
Hope that helps someone
Edit
PS: Oops sorry - sould def have searched first.. my bad!
I've deleated the bit about damnsmalllinux since thats all hear already.
I have my own webserver running at home and I travel alot for my work. The company has secured the laptop I carry so much it is hard to get to your own server (as soon as I use portnumbers the VPN-firwall starts to protest.)
I sneak my way around this by carrying linux livecd's around (suse and kubuntu), but as many other users might confirm you do switch back and forth between linux and windows to get your work done.
Anyhow I found this java program Unitty which is a bit like winscp but not as good. Filezilla is ok for ftp but when you need to start putting in commandlines root access, no connection time outs etcetera, then winscp is a good solution.
Okay, I have searched for this, with no result.
Is it possible (forget legality) to make Ovation Player portable? Just a simple NSIS script, and then host it online in a random server?
Or am I dreaming??
http://www.seriousmagic.com... I want to use Ovation and buy it, but if the Ovation Player isn't portable, it's useless to me.
Encrypts password database using Blowfish. Single executable w/o installation. Looks like a prime candidate for portable app to me.

I think that a portable apps of daemon tools will rock!
Syplpheed is a lightweight GTK+ mail/newsgroup client. It runs on Unix-like systems such as Linux, BSD, and Mac OS X. It also supports Windows.
It has the required libs bundled and stores all info in Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\Sylpheed under Windows. It has multilanguage support and can be migrated to from any mail client that uses mbox.
I like this client very much, I dropped Thunderbird for it, and since I travel a lot, I would like to request it to be a portable app.
Something like Notepad++

or Scite
