Tweeten

Submitted by serenitatis on July 11, 2016 - 7:13am

Please add to PortableApps platform app called Tweeten. It's a TweetDeck based app for Twitter, also available as standalone Windows app. Very useful because Twitter abandon TweetDeck for Windows standalone app support. Official site here - http://tweeten.xyz/

MinGW -- It was here once before, is it really gone?

Submitted by superbiskit on July 7, 2016 - 3:24pm

When I do a search, either within the site or Googling "MinGW Portable" I get the forum post at <https://portableapps.com/node/18601>.
BUT, either the link to <http://sar3th.kicks-ass.net/downloads/PortableApps/MinGWPortable/MinGW_P... is broken, or the Public Library doesn't see the humor in a site named "kick-ass.net" Either way, I can't get it.

MakeHuman [need advise on HOW]

Submitted by robertltux on July 6, 2016 - 10:38pm

due to a number of folks getting confused in the MH forums i would like to sort out how to make a portable version of MakeHuman.

the big issue here is that the user data folder would need to be redirected. Is there somebody that knows how to
A hijack the call to the UserData folder to do the redirect
B can edit the Python Code to do the redirect (its in Python 2.7)

the plan is to edit MH and build a bundle with Gimp Blender and MH(p) with a buncha content (even if its a bit of a jigsaw im nailing down some "stuff")

Telegram (Desktop)

URL: https://desktop.telegram.org

They already have a portable version (https://telegram.org/dl/desktop/win_portable extract the .zip and run the .exe. doesn't write anything in registry) and it auto updates but I'd somehow prefer to have a PortableApps version.

Telegram is OpenSource, source available at https://github.com/telegramdesktop/tdesktop.

  • Name: CloneApp
  • Website: Mirinisoft
  • Description: CloneApp enables easy backup of all your app settings from Windows directories and Registry.

A fresh re-install always makes Windows much faster but that means you lose all your program settings.

CloneApp will Backup all your App settings from Windows' directories and the Registry, and only those you really need.

Search textstring in multiple filetypes

Submitted by cassini on June 27, 2016 - 10:30am

Hi,

I'm looking for a Search program that can find a textstring in multiple files of different types in one go.

O3find.exe can find a textstring in multiple txt, xml, doc, xls, ppt, odt, ods, odg, odp files,
but unfortunately NOT in: docx, xlsx, pdf.

Does anyone know about a program that can handle the complete list, or can O3find be modified ?

Thanks

"File Checksum Tool" - it's much more sophisticated then "Checksum Control" !

Submitted by deti on June 25, 2016 - 10:55am

Hi,
I would like to see this portable app in the download manager:
"File Checksum Tool" => http://www.krylack.com/file-checksum-tool/
It is ready to be use with PA: "Portable software. Save to USB-stick or any folder you have write-access to (User-rights)"
In my view it is much more sophisticated then the already available "Checksum Control".
Thanks and regards
Det
