How to add printable gridlines to an imported text table in a DOC

Submitted by sweetnuttin on May 6, 2015 - 7:06pm

Hello all,

I forgot how to do the following:

I copied & pasted a table from the I-net into a LO document, it pasted into the document as a table.
It has separating lines for each cell of the table when just viewing the document, but the lines do NOT show up in preview mode nor do they print.

How do I add them to the entire table for printing?

I have played around for over 2 1/2 hrs and I still can not get it to work.

Help most graciously and humbly accepted.

Tnx a bunch!

Sincerely,
Sue

Better information on extensions

Submitted by jojothehobo on April 15, 2015 - 6:45pm

Hi All:
I was installing a couple of extensions to LibreOffice Calc today and noticed that many of the ones listed were tagged as not having been updated in over a year, On others there was no stable release, and in still others I got a pop up on installing that said that I needed to reconfigure or select an installed Java version, which I did.

LO 4.4.1 possible h/w milestone, Still is OK

Submitted by Wm ... on March 14, 2015 - 3:35pm

This is a heads-up not a moan.

My Win XP SP3 era hardware gets an error on exiting LO 4.4.1 though everything else appears OK.

I've switched to LO Still and all seems well. I'm not missing any functionality.

I'll try Fresh again next time round, this is just in case anyone else comes across a similar problem.

LibreOffice 4.4.1 install question

Submitted by Ian_W359 on March 12, 2015 - 9:11pm

Hello,

Just a question about the LibreOffice updater, does the installation from the PortableApps update checker remove the extra languages as the .EXE installer offers? I am asking this as I have recently downloaded LO 4.4.1 (currently using 4.4.0) and the installer does not run (when run through 'Install a new app'). Is it worth trying to install it through the update system? I am using MS Vista SP1.

Thanks,
Ian

[Fixed] Some strings in Base's Java functions not in proper language in LibreOffice Portable 4.4.0 Normal language pack

Submitted by m_c on January 31, 2015 - 4:06pm

Hi,

I'm using LibreOffice 4.4.0 now and found several bugs in the packaged version. I didn't check how the packaged version was packaged.

I'm using the German version. It was updated from 4.3.4 to 4.4.0.
Same bugs occured there.

>1st: unable to change language
steps to retry:
Open LibreOffice Portable=>Extras=>Options=>Language Settings=>Languages=>User interface: German to English=>OK
There is a window that tells me to restart LibreOffice. If I close LibreOffice Portable and restart it, the language is still German.
(was set wrong in PortableApps Launcher)

Can't Open Excel Files

Submitted by wr4 on January 13, 2015 - 8:00pm

Is anyone running this on XP? I just 'installed' the latest version (on XP Pro SP3) and it will not open Excel files (xlsx, xlsm), but it will open Word files; all saved in Office 2007.

The error box says General Error, General input/output error.

Anyone know how to fix this?

LibreOffice Portable Help Installer

Submitted by SW-PA-2014 on January 12, 2015 - 4:31am

Like others, I wanted to install the help files for LibreOffice, but found no quick and easy way of doing this. Even extracting the files, using 7-Zip, leaves some files with the wrong names and wrong locations. So, to get past this, I wrote a portable application, which I call "LibreOffice Portable Help Installer". All you need to do is the following:

(1) Download the "LibreOffice Help For Offline Use" installer from the non-portable LibreOffice site.
