Portable App Development

I was wondering if it is possible to make Nero portable. Sometimes I have files that I need to copy and I am not around my computer, but the computer I am using has a cd/dvd burner. Being able to have Nero on a flash drive would be fantastic. Does anybody have some hints on how I would start this, or if it is possible? Thank you.

I am trying to use the path of a portable application in a registry value. Something like

!define REGKEYS "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Vendor\Subkey\Path=REG_SZ:%PAL:AppDir%\SubfolderofApp\"

apparently won't do anything. Any hints ?

I´ve been working on a portable app, but i´m stuck on moving a directory from a registry key, that contains double back slash in the string, this is the launcher i've created:

Hello there! I am auctally trying to create my first PortableApp, because I am wanting to create my own Spiral Knights app. The problem is, how the heck do you create the EXE file in the main folder? I mean the [AppName]Portable.exe thing. How the heck do you create it?

I've made this a while ago and decided to share it with the community. This page takes the app data from a form and generates the content of a properly formatted comment for the Test Releases page, preventing the burden of editing the code directly and inadvertently removing some tag. It also automatically escapes special characters.

I have a question.... how can you (after making a portable app) upload it?

exist wrapper for normal Apps [exe], to become PortableApps? where found?

Does anyone know, if you are logged in with a limited account, and then run a PortableApp with elevated rights....

1. Will the HKCU RegistryKeys entries in the launcher.ini file refer to those for the Admin user or the limited account? If they refer to the Admin user, is there a way of coding for the limited users HKCU entries under elevated rights? I need to store some current desktop settings for the current user whilst the portableapp is running and revert them when the program exists. But I also need to capture some HKLM entries too.

just visited and browsed portableapps and the forum a few hours, and I'm totally confused...
and i have to ask same old question again... :
"how do i make standalone software portable?!"

I'm totally confused, because most of the threats are 2 or more! years old. And none of the ways are easy to use or at least easy to understand.
