Automatically change you USB drive's icon everytime you plug it in

Submitted by Keviin on January 29, 2007 - 2:58am

i made this program with AutoIT. this program automatically changes your usb drive's icon wen you run it. this will also run the program you wish to autorun from your usb. so this doesnt take away the you usb's ability to autorun program you want.this program is call USBIR which stands for USB Icon Randomizer. Please use the program "Aut2Exe" provided in the AutoIT set to covert this into and executable.

Removing unwanted .exe files from the PortableAppsMenu

Submitted by petrsimanek on January 26, 2007 - 4:27am

Hi all,

when I put an application into PortableApps directory, ALL .exe files will be listed in PortableAppsMenu, including e.g. update.exe or any "background running" .exe files.
I'd love to have the possibility to remove only that unwanted .exe files from the Menu (not the application itself). In other words, to select, which .exe files will be listed.
And also the possibility to rename the listed files would be nice.

I suggest this to consider while preparing the next versions of PortableAppsMenu.

Changing Program Titles

Submitted by gutterdog2 on January 25, 2007 - 5:50pm

Maybe I missed how to change this, but recently I installed a new app, but the name that showed up in the menu wasnt recognizable to indicate the app I installed. I installed a french program and it says "version fransais" instead of the program name.

It would be nice if we could rename these titles in the menu.

A few good ideas....

I have not been into PortableApps.com for long, but I find it highly useful. But there are a few things that have been bothering me. These are not complaints mind you, they are just a few suggestions that came to me.
