Sick troll mate, you targeted something that was slated for deletion. The other repositories that you have (along with the account name itself) make it obvious your intentions, any pull requests would of been rejected. I have enough programmer knowledge to ascertain whether any coding was potentially suspicious, anything that I would need a debugger/decompiler to read the source for would also have been rejected.

I am currently developing an application which should be portable or non-portable (like many apps here).

I am now thinking about a best practice for "configuration management", e.g. how the app handles its configuration on startup.

Since I read the "what is a portable app" link and I don't want to mess up with windows annoyances like registry etc., my approach is currently the following:

* read the configuration file xyz.cfg in the program's directory.
* if it is not found, try to read config file from user's %APPDATA% or %LOCALAPPDATA% and act according to it.

I'm currently working on portable version of Koala (see this thread), and have run into an issue with the Installer where it is failing on one file, and I'm just trying to figure out why.

The error:

Folks:

Firefox Portable Plus (FPP) is my attempt to finally make a version of Firefox Portable that is independent of the host computer. VLC Media Player is completely integrated into the installation so that it will play most audio and video formats embedded within a tab in Firefox. Adobe Shockwave Flash is also built in and FPP will ingore any versions installed on the host computer. There is also the option of using Java through JPortable: https://portableapps.com/apps/utilities/java_portable.

I'm a total newbie to USB development and have a two-part Qn.
My goal is to create a GUI App for an USB drive to configure some of its settings like PINs to unlock the drive and 'allowed file-extensions', etc.

1. Do I need to write a desktop or web GUI App with mass-storage driver support to communicate with the device firmware to do this?

2. Or can I simply create a Portable App that runs on the device itself and talks directly to the device firmware? In this case, I don't need OS-driver support, right?

I have been attempting to make a game I play portable using the PortableApps Launcher Generator and this website's documentation. The only thing I really need to do to make the game portable is to redirect some registry accesses.

I eventually managed to create a launcher which I thought was what I needed. Unfortunately, I have been having problems running the game and I have narrowed them down to the initial registry settings. Basically, when the game is installed, the installer creates some registry entries which have to be present for the game to run properly.

So for reasons of a project Im planning, Ive been playing around a bit with Portableapps.com Platform, trying to refresh my memory about how everything works. I had looked back at some posts I had submitted and followed over 4 years ago. At that time I had been eagerly awaiting some features to become available. The developers implied that they might (and I do understand that it was "might") be implemented in the "next platform/version". 4yrs later, I can't tell if Im just missing it, or the features were never implemented.

This client i believe is now the unofficial client, and will not work with the servers.

the new client is called ManaPlus. it can be portabalized and take the place of this old client, possibly, but i dont even think this on works anymore.

i am new to this so correct me in ANY thing i fail to do ok so i just wanna know how to make a request don't know if this is the right way but whatever just let me now and i wanna request a portable version of wizard101 i really need it for certain reasons ^^ is it possible to make it portable? and the site is Wizard101.com
