Portable App Development

Hi, been searching for this but i couldn't find the code or what it's called.
How do you put a checkbox on finish page so when the installer exits, it starts the program if checkbox is checked?

for each program an additional process gets started which has the portable suffix. Each of those processes eat 5MG RAM.

What do they do and why do one needs them?

Before I express my idea, I want to Say that I Apologize if this is in the wrong place.
And Also I don't know if anyone has expressed this Idea at all. If so, I apologize as well.

I am a Portable Apps Freak. I want nearly everything I use to be Portable.
I am running At the moment, 2 Skypes', Foobar2000, Pidgin, Firefox, and Thunderbird, portably.
Anyway, I am going to express this idea as if everyone is an Xp or 2000 User.
Changes can be made to make this work on vista.

I have used mplayer & works much better than even vlc media player & media player classic.Here is my suggestion
(1)Portable version of mplayer does not show time by default unlike installable version for windows which shows time running in base bar.Can anybody tweak the portable mplayer to show time at bottom of window?

Condition:

-Sometimes there is some applications that still runing from our flasdisk that prevent us from ejecting them (flashdisk). On the other case some virus have similar condition to prevent us to ejecting the flashdisk, because the process is still runing.

Improvement:

I noticed many different PortableApps.com language environment variables.
Exists an overview of them (name and how languages are stored)? Can't find one and want to select the best fitting one for my apps!

I'm trying to create an installer and I've uncommented two of the language lines in the config file (English and Afrikaans) but when I do a right-click -> compile I get the following error at the end of the output:

What programs to use to read dword?
And how do you write dword "junk" keys with NSIS?
like nsis converts the regular keys into "junk" dword keys and writes it in the registry...
There's a path key written in dword and I can't change it if I can't read/write dword. Can somebody help?

well, we have many apps in our package, and yet to come much more apps in the future. Now if we need to check each app for update, first we have to run the apps and check for the version on hand, open the browser, download update from web, all manually.
If we have a tools for showing all apps install in the packages, list all the version on hand, showing all latest version available, one-click update, and also what's new apps available. It help's a lot.

as u all know many programs save personal datas, like f.x. pidgin ur passwords in the file accounts.xml and gpg the key and so on. Espessially on the stick this really sucks when it goes lost.

My idea was to make a script / programm what is stored in the Portable Apps folder.
in a txt file u say what files or folders are personal.
then the script runs 7zip and encrypt these files / folders.
And delete/overwrite them.

Next start u just make decrypt here to the archive and it puts the personal files in the right places.
