hi, i was making a portable app and i decided to first change the source code to make it portable instead of copying files all over the place. I changed a py file to set the path of the ini file to the current folder instead of Application Data. It stored the ini in the current folder fine but when i made the portableapps nsis launcher and launched it from that, then the ini file started showing up in the same folder as the nsis launcher instead of where it should be. I made a workaround for it but i'm a perfectionist and want to fix the problem. Why is it doing that, any ideas?
As I try to help out new developers with some small improvements to get there portable application conformed perfectly to the latest PortableApps.com Format specifications (as far as I know them), I find it's getting repetitive to retype everything for all the users.
Below is a list of some small improvements I usually mention alongside any bugs, etc. I'll use this as a reference sheet to point new developers too, and new developers should also be checking these items before posting a development test.
Hello!
I have some personal programs (ones I've made, and ones friend of mine have made) and was wondering if it would be possible to put a shortcut to them in the PortableApps 'menu'.
Please add this feature.
Thanks in advance,
Panarchy
Another tiny theme set. for all guys using small resolution displays or didn't like big interfaces. Don't speculate about "C03" or "C14". It's nothing chemical, I've created 22 color variations and named them C01 to C22. But, don't be afraid, there are only 12 out of 37 I make yet...

hello all, i was just woundering i have seen my uncle with this on his usb drive and i was woundering how you change document's music photo's and so on to what ever you wont them to be?
Not sure if any of you devs realized it, but certain cross-platform apps (e.g. The GIMP, GnuCash) will store settings to the Cygwin home directory (%home%) if the Cygwin DLL is in the path. These programs may not even store the info in %appdata%, favoring %home% exclusively.
I'm wanting to turn an app portable but i'm not sure what the process is. Do I edit parts of the source code and compile it, or use that portable app template or what. It shouldn't be too hard since this app only writes to Application Data and some log file in system32.
Bueno, hice este tema hace algun tiempo, les dejo el archivo PSD para que lo personalicen a su antojo jeje, espero les agrade.
Que se puede personalizar:
--> Podria decirse que todo
--> Imagenes (personajes, slide, etc)
--> Nombre
I made this theme some time ago, i give you the PSD file, you can customize it as you wish, have fun and i hope you like it.
What can you change:
--> Almost everything
--> Images (Characters, slide)
--> Name
Hello, everyone!
I am new here on the forums, and I was wondering if anyone knew of any good resources out there for learning NSIS. I know the very basics, but not enough to write full scripts, like for launchers. I have been trying to complete "Handbrake Portable" (The DVD ripper) in my spare time, which is mostly on the weekends. But I just don't know enough of NSIS to really get into it. So does anyone have any feedback on the idea of a portable version of Handbrake? Or if it is even legal, for that matter, as it is a DVD ripper. Thanks in advance!
