Additional Profile folder created in the 'Users' folder causing issues

Submitted by videobruce on March 11, 2018 - 5:24pm

At first, I thought this was another instance of FF opening up due to the default GUI that opened until I figured out what was happening.

There is a problem with this other 'Profile' folder being created, buried in the 'Users" folder running Win7. It is not a duplicate of the customized folder within the actual program folder, but just a 'default' profile folder that doesn't get updated when the regular profile changes (add ons, etc).
There are 3 folders (only one seems to have data in it) buried in that annoying 'Users' folder in Windows (W7 specifically).

<s>Firefox updating without consent!!!</s> Ffx now Malware!!!

Why is it my Ffx v56.02 keeps updating?
I have v56.02 installed and do NOT want to update to the completely useless newer versions that are unable to use plugins.
This version has been set as my default app and is 'installed' on an internal HDD.

It all started with the new v57 updating the app folder and resetting the toolbars.
Despite NEVER actually updating this version!!!

Firefox Portable For Overseas Virtual Assistant

Hi

I’ve seen Firefox Portable setups where I could download it and then once i opened it up, it would have me login to a proxy, and then I could have access to online accounts that were logged in with user names and passwords filled in.

I wanted to set this up so I could have my VAs work on my Instagram accounts without giving them the actual login information. I’d also want to block access to certain pages so that they couldn’t alter the login and steal the account from me.

Is there a video tutorial or online tutorial oh how to set something like this up?

Split Mozilla Firefox into 32 and 64 Bit

Submitted by Drazick on February 12, 2018 - 5:47am

Hello,

Could you please split the Firefox into 32 Bit and 64 Bit products?

I will explain my reasons:
1. It allows running 2 instances (Which doesn't share sessions) in parallel (32 and 64, I used that daily in Chrome).
2. It will make each package smaller both on the HD and downloading (Downloading above 70MB from SourceForge isn't fast).

I know there is issue which one to set as the default.
I'd say the 32 Bit.

To the least, could you let download 64 Bit only version?

Thank You.

"ERROR: firefox.exe could not be found"

Hi all,
I have been using Firefox Portable for years, but I haven't had this happen before, and I couldn't find any solutions. I usually download each and every update using the normal Firefox update process. I did the same thing this time, closed the browser, and tried to open it again using the FirefoxPortable.exe, but I am getting this error:

Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition, cannot be started. You may wish to reinstall to fix this issue. ERROR: firefox.exe could not be found

Firefox portable and regular installed version together - possible?

Submitted by XVWWVX on February 5, 2018 - 2:41am

Hi

Is it possible -without issues- to have a regular installed Firefox instance and a portable Firefox too, on the same Windows instance? tl;dr I want to use Firefox as normal, and that's no issue, but now -that Quantum is so different- I also want to have a pre-Quantum Firefox (56.0.2) available for one specific site with one specific add-on that is no longer supported and is a must for me. (Please don't suggest alternatives, it has to be the final Firefox before Quantum!)

I can only foresee two potential issues;
