This may be a problem with my environment, but I thought I'd throw it out there anyway.

I've started getting the follwing message screens on several sites - Dropbox and Google+ to name two.

Is lacking SSE2, or SSE3, a new twist to system requirements?

Submitted by u21832 on November 3, 2016 - 11:20am
  1. firefox 49 actually check at startup if SSE2 CPU instruction is available. it issues an explicit statement, and does not continue, if that instruction is not available. I guess Windows 7, and newer, can not be installed on such CPUs. It there fore concerns only XP. Did I miss portableapps explicitly mentions that requirement on relevant web pages?

userContent.css

Hi!

I tried to create a chrome folder inside the Profile Folder and put my userContent.css there, but the file didn't work. I ejected the USB and stick it again, nothing. Do I have to put it in another folder or it won't work at all?

Regards!

Firefox 47 running on xp all add-on's disabled

Submitted by vezreu on October 8, 2016 - 11:41am

Hello John and All.

I am running FF portable 47.0 on an Windows XP system. All the Add-on's (plug-in, extensions) show (disabled). Some seem to be running but still show disabled. How can I correct this on my list to make certain all is up to date and working properly. I also assume that some are no longer compatible with the newer program. Thank you.

Email link tries to start new instance of Thunderbird Portable

Submitted by OsakaWebbie on October 7, 2016 - 9:36am

I use Portable Apps on my hard drive (to keep from getting tangled in the registry so I can be portable if I need to). My default email program is set to Thunderbird Portable in both Windows 10 and FF Portable. But if TB Portable is running (as it almost always is) and I click on an email link on a webpage, instead of just opening a composition window, I get: "Another instance of Thunderbird is already running. Please close other instances of Thunderbird before launching Thunderbird, Portable Edition." Is there a setting I need to fix somehow?

Very Slow Page Loading after Initializing FF Portable v49

Submitted by BPaul_H on October 2, 2016 - 7:40pm

After opening Firefox Portable (v49) I try to open another site from my favorites (or open a tab and enter a url (e.g. www.google.com) directly. The spinning icon just spins and the site doesn't open. If I copy the same url entered into Chrome or IE the site opens immediately. I use two add-ins, Ghostery and ABP. When I try to open FF without add-ins I can't. When I disable those add-ins, via the FF menu, this doesn't seem to help. I have no proxy setting. After a while (15 min or so) sites start responding more quickly.
